Patriot Moss: 'I want to fit in'

Randy Moss said all the right things regarding the Patriots and fitting in on a championship team. He wants to win a Super Bowl. He'll do whatever's asked. He described himself as a big fan of Tom Brady and said the only butterflies he's felt thus far came when he saw his locker between those of Brady and veteran QB Vinny Testaverde.

Say "all the right things" you want Moss, youre still a piece of TRASH!

June 7, 2007  08:19 AM ET

what a loser... I hope he doesn't bring down the team with him.... another ticking time bomb in the nfl....

June 7, 2007  08:33 AM ET

Normally, I would think the same way. Being a Packer fan, and living in Minnesota, I saw first hand what Randy can do to a team (both good and bad). I think he's for real. What made him "bad" lately was the fact that he didn't care. Now he has a reason to care - a legitimate shot at a Super Bowl. God knows he didn't have that chance with the Vikes or the Raiders.

Watch out for Moss in '07'08!

June 7, 2007  08:47 AM ET

Moss will have an excellent year now that he is a part of top rate organization. All of you Moss "haters" are going to have a long season of misery. Too Bad!

June 7, 2007  08:55 AM ET

JCSMOOTH .... 100% RIGHT ! PATRIOTS WINN AND THATS WHAT RANDY LIKES, NOW HE HAS A REASON TO PLAY AND LOT TO PROVE.
GO MOSS !

June 7, 2007  09:01 AM ET

Moss did have a chance at the super bowl. The vikings went 15-1 in 99, they got killed in the divisionals by the giants.

June 7, 2007  09:17 AM ET

The same giants whom the ravens completely destroyed. NFC is garbage. He has a REAL chance now.

June 7, 2007  09:24 AM ET

I like Moss, but I do wish he and others would show some integrity and play hard even when they're on a garbage team like the Raiders (no offense Raider's fans, but last year sucked for you guys). But I do hope he does well, and if they play their cards right, they may be able to face the Niners in the Super Bowl.

June 7, 2007  09:29 AM ET

Moss is the most overrated piece of crap.

If only we all had your talent

June 7, 2007  09:32 AM ET

I am constantly amazed at the petty, hateful and just plain stupid postings about what someone will or won't do.

How about this: shut up and watch, comment on actual events not speculation and personal hate issues.

I am a Pats fan of 47 yrs, I am waiting to see how it goes, then with results I can draw an intelligent conclusion...novel concept huh?

June 7, 2007  09:38 AM ET

Although I'm happy that my team has a gamebreaker for the first time ever and I am certain he won't be too distracting, I am weary of Moss. SI's Mike Silver - who I agree with about half the time - wrote something to the effect, of Moss being rewarded for tanking in the last year. He goes to Oakland, Oakland stinks, Moss loses interest, Moss stinks - he gets to play for a perrenial contender. Rewarded for playing like crap.

I hope, and am pretty confident things will work out. They got him for nothing and signed him for relatively cheap so he probably means business when he says "I want to fit in". Nothing like getting decked in the face with a fist o' SB rings if misbehaviour occurs. But man I can't wait. Just as a football fan I am curious as to how they will use him, Stallworth and Welker in games.

June 7, 2007  09:40 AM ET

Ok, how about this for commenting on actual events. The last three years he got paid millions of dollars for sauntering out on the field, not giving a crap, and watching passes fly by his face while he moped like a three year old.

He's a loser, no matter how talented he is.

June 7, 2007  09:41 AM ET

Sorry oldracer but im pretty sure the Raiders werent paying over 10 million a year to give that kind of effort.

Its not speculation that he doesnt play hard, listen to his coaches, watch the games.

If you are getting paid money to do a job, then you should do it right.

This has nothing to do with what Moss will or wont do with the Pats, its the absolute waste of talent he has been the last couple of years

June 7, 2007  09:42 AM ET

Brocaw....

Moss is the most overrated piece of crap?

If only we had his talent?

er..ah That would makes us ALL overrated pieces of crap.

June 7, 2007  09:45 AM ET

Moss will love it until he doesn't have many balls coming his way. Then "cry baby" Randy will emerge. Brady is still going to spread the ball out and hit the most open receiver. When Moss is being locked down every game and Welker is cathing as many balls as him, he will start complaining.

June 7, 2007  09:50 AM ET

This is forreal, the Patriots will not be stopped this year in the playoffs. Moss is going to be an enormous part of the offense whether he is cathcing balls or not. Either way hes drawing double coverage all game, completely opening up the entire offense. Barring injury, this may be the most prolific offense in the NFL in recent years.

June 7, 2007  09:53 AM ET

Mike.

Moss is overrated because people regard him as a top receiver, yet his stats the last two years dont back that up

He is a piece of crap because he doesnt use the talent he obviously has

Because if I had his talent I sure as hell wouldnt be loafing around, sullen like a little kid.

Not to mention I might have ten million reasons to play hard

June 7, 2007  09:55 AM ET

Belichick has *no* problem benching people if they don't produce, no matter who they are. If "cry baby Randy" emerges, Belichick will bench him, it's as simple as that. That's why I'm not worried. If he produces, the Pats benefit. If he doesn't, he'll have a long season on the sidelines.

Moss knows this is his last chance, and I don't think he's *that* selfish to let his own personal ego get in the way of his last shot at a Superbowl ring. I'm going to let events play themselves out, and hopefully I'll be proven right.

June 7, 2007  10:01 AM ET

I thought that was in the 98 season Edubb, and they got beat by the Falcons in the NFC championship.

June 7, 2007  10:07 AM ET
