Buckeyes recruit de-commits

After committing to play at Ohio State, McEachern junior guard Trae Golden has decided to re-open the recruiting process this summer. Last week, he backed off the commitment and informed Buckeyes coach Thad Matta of his decision. "I just want to see what else is out there," Golden said. "I keep hearing the recruiting process is crazy." Ohio State, Florida, Georgia and Georgia Tech are under consideration. Although North Carolina and UCLA haven't offered, Golden said he has talked with the schools and would be interested.

"I just want to see what else is out there," What does that mean? Sounds like the kid wants attention or maybe wants O.J. Mayo and Reggie Bush money! May not be the kind of kid Matta needs, might be better to move on.

After due consideration, I've changed my position (no, I'm not running for President!). I think the kid is too young to commit to anything right now and after checking on his status at OSU, he wasn't even listed as "committed." He's a 6-2 point guard and would be a nice addition to the 2010 class. Only OSU and Kentucky have offered scholarships so far, but I expect others will offer as well. He might even get an offer from RichRod at Michigan, who seems to be offering a ride to everyone else! Just kidding.

Go to USC, make it a part time job thing! Of course you'll have to pay the man (IRS) later, but go ahead man.....check it out!

If you want to go to a team with the best overall conference in the land go to a Big East school. Going based off the location of OSU, maybe Marquette.

Check out River1075s second post. The article he/she is posting about says NOTHING about the University of Michigan, or football for that matter. Yet this individual can't help himself/herself from bringing up Michigan and it's football program. It appears as though someone is either very envious or very single-minded.

hey river1075,
he sounds perfect for OSU if what u said in the first post is true,
dirty and unfaithful to his commitments.

ks, nobody told you? You have to bring up the teams you hate in every comment....

Anywho, this guy is still real young. I'm sure he realized it was foolish to commit before checking out every school. If he comes to OSU, good. If not, oh well

same story different day, commitements mean nothing anymore. They are like a jumping off point for negotiations...

"I just want to see what else is out there,"

That's the recruiting equivalent of the "It's not you, it's me" in breakups
