NL All-Stars starting pitcher

I just talked with someone here familiar with the thinking of National League manager Clint Hurdle and he told me Hurdle is expected to announce in the morning that Brewers right-hander Ben Sheets will start the All-Star Game on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium. When the Rockies were in Milwaukee earlier in the week, Hurdle strongly hinted that he was leaning toward Sheets and apparently that is his choice. Sheets and Chicago's Carlos Zambrano have the most rest of the pitchers on the NL squad, both last pitching on Wednesday.

"I just talked with someone here familiar with the thinking of National League manager Clint Hurdle and he told me..."

Is this standard journalistic style at the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel these days?

Whoever pitches, just win the stinking game so the NL can get home field for once

I just hope he puts his only centerfielder in the game as soon as possible.

So according to Heyman Sheets is starting because Webb and Lincecum were moved up to start Sunday. Volquez started Saturday and Dusty asked Hurdle not to start Volquez.

Maybe it is time to move this thing to after the season is over. Play it in Hawaii.

Maybe our Pirates pitchers could pitch for the home run derby since they have basically been doing it all year.

Steelers, that's funny. But too true.

I would also recommend to Hurdle to not let the game end with Albert never getting to the plate.

Yeah, he will since he is starting. That wasn't the case last year......when the game ended with him on the bench holding a bat, while I think it was Rowand and Hudson made the final two outs
