Players won't miss Yankee Stadium
As players were beseeched by countless members of the news media to eulogize Yankee Stadium as it hosts its last All-Star Game, those sufficiently provoked Monday were willing to discuss what they would not miss about the old -- very old -- ballpark in the Bronx. Today's All-Stars have their own reasons to dry their eyes at Yankee Stadium's funeral. "The smell," the Texas Rangers' Michael Young said. "The tiny clubhouse," Justin Duchscherer of the Oakland Athletics added. "Hitting my head on the dugout," the Chicago White Sox' Joe Crede offered. "Every time somebody scored or got a hit, you jumped up and forgot how low the ceiling is in there." Yankee Stadium is holding up about as well as any 85-year-old can be expected to, but the ballpark's 1970s facelift has begun to droop. Players found reasons for moving on easy to come up with. Olfactory issues led the voting, although few players were able to identify what the problem has been. Is one of Babe Ruth's half-eaten hot dogs still rotting under one of the grandstands? Are the foul lines marked with sulfur? And how long does pine tar keep, anyway?

The Yanks will never be the Dominate team they were in Yankee Stadium. The Last Great memory the Stadium will ever have wont even be from a YANKEE it will be from a Texas Ranger(Hamilton)

If you're a true BB fan history should have taught you to never count the Yankees out!

We're only 6 games out! I wouldn't count us out just yet, I mean we did have the best record after the allstar game last season. We're down but definitely not out!

We? You got a mouse in your pocket?
The stadium is a dump. I hope when they are done ripping in down, they can go to Boston and demo Fenway Pahk.

Dodgerblue lets talk about your dodgers legacy shall we. I mean you had to move to the other side of the country because you couldn't compete with the Yanks in NY. Go Brooklyn!! To say that the Yankees will never dominate is a little bit idiotic.

Yankee stadium may have been great in it's prime (pre-renovation). But it is a dump now and deserves to be torn down.

If you knew ANYTHING about the history of the Dodgers in brooklyn, you would know the exact reason they moved to LA. It had nothing to do with not being able to compete.

Half eaten hot dog? When did the Babe ever leave a hot dog uneaten?
More likely a backed up sewer or more buried shirts from the past.

It's not the stadium itself. It's the Bronx, it smells like hardcore poop there.

Agreed, the new stadium will smell no different after the first couple of weeks. Although, after coming out of the subway the Bronx smells like roses.
