Agent: Bonds unlikely to return

Agent Jeff Borris acknowledged that time is running out for Bonds to play this season, saying he is not optimistic a team will sign him. He said the soon-to-be 44-year-old slugger could be ready to play in two weeks, but no teams have shown interest. People around Bonds believe he's been black-balled from the game. A little more than a month ago, Borris offered Bonds' services as cheaply as he could to teams and still had no interest. "I'd offered him for the league minimum - $390,000 - to numerous clubs and not one of them would take him," Borris said. "If that doesn't create a level of suspicion I don't know what does. How can a guy who was a National League All-Star last year not have a chance to put on a major league uniform in 2008? He's completely healthy. Everyone knows that his trial date is not until March of 2009, so there would be no interruption with the 2008 season."

July 15, 2008  05:39 AM ET

"If that doesn't raise a level of suspicion, I don't know what does," the agent said.

You don't know what does?
I know what does.
Injecting huge amounts of steroids into your **** and then lying about it.
That's what does.

July 15, 2008  05:50 AM ET

That's right Boris. If everything doesn't go the black mans way it must be racism. Boo Hoo.

July 15, 2008  06:14 AM ET

Big suprise, who wants a cancer on their team at this time of the season (or any time)

July 15, 2008  06:27 AM ET

COLLUSION!!!!!!!!

If Shawn Chacon gets another job, then phu** baseball. Blacklistin bunch of Phu*ks.

July 15, 2008  07:27 AM ET

Steroids: teams will look past past steroid use
Trial dates: teams will deal with trial dates
Being a cancer inducing prick: no, teams generally don't want this, especially from a 40+ year old player with no knees.

Teams are starting to move on from the old timers. Get over it. Retire already.

July 15, 2008  09:05 AM ET

Exactly Troy! Bonds isn't the only old timer who did well last year and still can't get a job. Why pay millions for mediocre performance when you can pay thousands for the same performance?

July 15, 2008  09:12 AM ET

No ****, Sherlock. Nobody wants his attitude and distractions in the clubhouse.

July 15, 2008  10:01 AM ET

B*nds.

July 15, 2008  10:02 AM ET

Cry me a river.

July 15, 2008  10:20 AM ET

Kenny Lofton, Mike Piazza and Barry Bonds, if this was 1999 then I would say collusion. But get a clue, it's 2008 and those guys are done! Nobody is going to spend big bucks on 40 year-olds who tend to get injured. Barry has been such a phallus to everybody for years. Do you think anybody is going to go out of their way so sign a player like that especially when he has bad knees and is under indictement?

July 15, 2008  10:37 AM ET

this guy is done stick a fork in his ****. who wants to sign some doochbag who treats every person he encounters like complete garbage and thinks his own $h*t done stink. go f urself you prick and take the needle outta your ****

July 15, 2008  10:55 AM ET

Ahh "collusion" what a wonderful thing !!!

July 15, 2008  11:01 AM ET

Collusion is the White Man's Burden

July 15, 2008  11:07 AM ET

So what this means is Bonds is about to sign with some AL team and we'll be watching 24-hour coverage of the deal on ESPN days before the trade deadline.

July 15, 2008  11:28 AM ET

If poor oppressed Barry is hurting for money, he could always rent out advertising space on that gigantic head of his. Just a thought...

July 15, 2008  11:42 AM ET

I really can't imagine that someone wouldn't take a flyer on him for less than a $200K investment..... I personally still stay he'd look great in LF for the Braves.... look, we've already beat the f*** out of this guy..... and he's a total a*ss.... but there are a lot of them around in pro sports, so who cares...... tell him to go out and win some games.... or you're feckking gone.....
