Among reasons the Timberwolves were eager to trade Antoine Walker, who was dumped on Memphis, was the questionable influence he was starting to have on star Al Jefferson.

a story about why they dumped a pudgy bad three shooter with no work ethic on another team who basically gave away their franchise player.....must be a slow news day.

Dumped on Memphis, that's funny

I still think the Miami Heat winning a championship with this guy on their team and J-Will is one of the finest coaching jobs maybe in the history of sports.

Jason Williams is a good player.. or was at that time. Antoine Walker is a fatboy malcontent.

July 15, 2008  08:36 AM ET

is memphis officially the worst franchise in the league?

July 15, 2008  08:36 AM ET

for the same reason my Heaters dumped him he eats 2 much apple pie & he has not improved.

This guy's never been any good. The guy's a cancer. Now the "dumped on Memphis" line is pretty funny though.

Antoine Walker was taking Al Jefferson to too many fast food restaurants. Bad influence.

I think there is probably a list of 20-30 reasons why they wanted rid of Employee #8. Fat, no work ethic, tendency to launch horribly ill-advised 3-pointers....the list could get pretty lengthy

Is it just me, or do the Wolves look almost respectable right now?

Foye
Miller
Brewer
Love
Jefferson

That's a starting five that could do serious damage if they are allowed to grow together over the next few years.

Another reason that they traded him away is because he is old, worn out, and just plain bad.

This thread should have read something like this--Among reasons the Timberwolves were eager to trade Antoine Walker, who was dumped on Memphis, was the questionable influence he was starting to have on star Al Jefferson, his lack of work ethic, the 30 pounds he needs to lose, his inability to hit the open jumper, and his overly-inflated contract. "Memphis traded Pao Gasol for a package of sweat socks, so we figured they were ripe for a deal," said T-Wolves GM Kevin Mchale

It's you-

They are still below the mediocre line
vying for a playoff spot is respectable.....anything else is BAD

What one sided comments!! Memphis gets dumped on by the media!
Lets look at the Gasol trade: Memphis got rid of Gasoft and his $48 million contract for 4 number 1 draft picks!! They got Darrel Arthur, J. Critt, Marc Gasol, and another 1st rounder. Everyone saw in the Boston series why Gasol was traded and could never win a playoff game at Memphis: He is a decent 2 or 3 guy but never will be the main go to guy. In another year everyone will be saying the Lakers got dumped on by that trade!
Toine has only one year left on his contract so he will be gone by next summer. Memphis got rid of 2 stiffs in Cardinal and Collins. Plus they get Mayo who will end up being as good as DWade so MN will look back and feel they got dumped on.
