Rockies in no hurry to trade Holliday
"I can't imagine the Rockies will act with Matt Holliday until they know what the true price is for Bay and Nady," an AL executive said. In other words, Colorado is expecting far more in return for Matt Holliday than Pittsburgh will get for Jason Bay/Xavier Nady. One veteran agent and an NL official both concurred that they think the Rockies would be more likely to trade third baseman Garrett Atkins at the deadline than Holliday because in Ian Stewart, Colorado already has a ready-made replacement.

Unless Holliday's replacement is a part of the deal - duh. How old is this veteran agent and what position does the NL official hold?

Rockies should keep him if they ever want to see the World Series again.

No NL West team is in a hurry to do any selling or trading of its top players. As sad as this is, every awful team in that awful division is still alive for the division title at this point.

I, like anyone with half a brain, would love to see Holliday in my team's lineup. But, as a fan of the game, I would hate to see the Rockies lose that kind of talent.

They won't trade Atkins. Not happening. It's way more likely that Holliday will be traded and Ian Stewart will be converted to a left-fielder. Why is the NY Post reporting on CO sports? Nobody outside of Colorado knows anything about Colorado sports.

Too bad if that's true - I'd like to see Atkins with my Twins club:)
