It appears Sergei Brylin's 13-year Devils' career is all over but the signing in Russia, though sources say ink hasn't met paper yet. After passing up his option for another $1.53 million season with the Devils, Brylin is expected to sign a three-year deal with St. Petersburg of the Russian Continental league.

This is exactly the kind of guy who is going to see the Russian League as an option.

See door. Make sure doesn't hit your posterior on way through. Bye. Y'all come back now hear?

O'well!!! See ya!!

That Russian league is turning out to be the place where all of the has beens and never weres go to live out there hockey careers....Kind of like the retirement farms for old throughbreds

Good guy. Good player. Good by! With three Stanley Cup rings on his fingers and his best days behind him, he deserves a nice, quiet retirement. Don't blame him for not wanting to be yelled at by a Sutter!

It would be an insult to Sergei Brylin to put him in the same category as say, Alexei Yashin or a miriad other Russian problem children. Really. This guy is a good guy. A team player. Worked his butt off. Never complained. Never caused any problems.

Just the fact that he lasted 13 long years in the swamp of NJ, playing for ol' Lou is quite an accomplishment for any player and it speaks well of Brylin. So, yeah, I'm sad to see that kind of player leave or retire.

Agreed with DCruiser. One of these quiet guys who just does his job day in and day out. Just an ordinary dependable guy. I wish him all the best in Russia.

New Jersey poetry?

Ed Zachary.

But he is still the exact kind of player who would want to play in Russia. Made his mark here already, came from that vicinity and is willing to see it as a viable option.

He said he was looking forward to playing with Emery

Kovalchuk? Nyet! Not yet!

Khabibulin? He's free to leave any time he wants! He's not getting much done around these parts anyway!

Actually he's a guy I'd like to try a Deadmontonian Resurrection on.
