Walton's Glen Rice Jr., son of the former NBA All-Star Glen Rice, was one of the most popular attractions among college basketball coaches at the Nike Peach Jam in Augusta. Rice, who plays with the Georgia Stars in AAU basketball, is one of the state's top uncommitted seniors. One published report had the 6-foot-4 shooting guard narrowing his list of schools to Georgia Tech, Miami and Florida State.

Why didn't they Bold Miami?

July 16, 2008  10:42 AM ET

Boy how things have fallen at Michigan. 20 years ago Glen Rice's kid would have a good chance of going to Michigan. How the program (and facility) are so far in the dumps that they can't even get the kids of former players.

They didn't bold Miami because no one really recognizes Miami as a basketball power. They're not even taken seriously anymore as a real football power like back in the day.

I doubt that's got anything to do with it. Who considers Ga Tech and Florida State basketball powers? Really?

Most likely just an editorial oversight (especially since the lead is accompanied by a picture of Miami's coach).
