Mercury Morris, asserting it's time the 1972 Dolphins capitalize financially on their perfect season, is releasing a '72 Dolphins rap video that he wrote -- Don Shula opens it with, ''I'm coach Don Shula and I approve this message'' -- and an accompanying booklet for, appropriately, $19.72. (First time ''Don Shula'' and ''rap video'' have appeared in the same sentence.)

Dear God...please, please, please let a team go 16-0 and win the Super Bowl this season so this dope can go away forever. Either that or have every team have a loss after week 3 so we don't have to see these idiots interviewed over and over and over again.

He may be close to brain-dead, but at least he has a sense of humor.

The Dolphins of '72 could not beat half of the NFL's teams today. They went undefeated, sure, but put that year's team on the field against most of today's teams, and they couldn't handle them. And a really good team, such as the Patriots or the Colts? My gosh, they'd kill them.

I hate rap.

July 16, 2008  08:42 AM ET

I'd rather see Mercurys prison tapes.

July 16, 2008  08:43 AM ET

Isn't Mercury a convicted felon? That would mean zero credibility, zero character and that no one should listen to him... ever.

From convict to financial advisor. It usually works the other way around...What a country.

I can't stand this guy. I was so sick of hearing about him and his Dolphins last year and what "neighborhood" there were already living in and how they Partiots were nothing until they finished. I'm not a Patriots fan and didn't want to see them go undefeated, but the thought of not having to see this guy anymore almost made me root for the Pats.

Gentlemen,

Start your credit cards. I bet people are overloading web sites to buy this.

The worst thing about the Giants upseting New England in the Super Bowl is that we have to listen to this tool for at least one more year.

The one year we have a chance to finally shut him and Shula up and Eli has to go and look like a legit quarterback. ****hole........

"An ignorant comparison: It is always a trap to compare different eras, ..."

Nice. They have this new invention called a thesaurus. It's for people who have IQs at the low end of the scale so they don't have to pull out the only 4 letter word they know to insult someone. Other than you being a fanboy, I fail to see anything the guy said that would cause you to use the only words your mother taught you.

Besides, he's right. Most of the guys on that team couldn't even make a majority of today's rosters. The real point, Einstein, is that the rest of us are tired of hearing about a bunch of old men who have this as their only accomplishment in life so they have to remind us all about it every year when no one cares.

I'll let you get back to yelling at the kids to get out of your yard.

So who will buy this after the 43 (if that many are still alive) players from the 72 Dolphins?

July 16, 2008  09:21 AM ET

July 16, 2008  09:23 AM ET
