Angry A-Rod drops the F-bomb

Alex Rodriguez took a couple of girls out on the town yesterday - his wife and 2-year-old daughter. The scandal-plagued Yankees slugger was the picture of a family man when he spent the day strolling with his wife, Cynthia, and their daughter, Natasha, through the Windy City's fashionable Gold Coast shopping district. The outing seemed to go smoothly until the end of the three-hour walkabout, when A-Rod got nasty with photographers who had tracked his every move. "You had enough?" Rodriguez snapped outside the team's hotel. "I'm out with my family. Now get the f--- out of my way."

Should this be "Angry A-rod drops the F-bomb"?

June 7, 2007  10:33 AM ET

The guy lets photographers follow him around for 3 hours, then wants them to leave him alone. WOW...What a great story. This guy can't do a **** thing without getting ripped for it. Everyone needs to relax and back off. Give this a guy a break.

I am not an A-Rod fan. However, this is getting a little ridiculous. These guys (media) are way past their usefulness. Alex has obvious marriage problems, and the media is fanning thhose flames, shameful because their is children involved. Did Rodriguez cheat on his wife? Come one, how many big leaguers are faithful on the road? These guys are targeted by young, beautiful women everywhere they turn. The guy is human. I am sure Mrs. Rodriguez knew this was the case when she married a young, good-looking gazillionaire athlete. The media (which is only serving gossip -hungry fans) should back off and report on the only thing true baseball fans care about :baseball. If you are interested in tabloid garbage, buy a People Magazine and read about Brad and Angelina.

WHO CARES?

June 7, 2007  10:39 AM ET

Was he talking to the media, or a blonde????

That's right, who cares..

June 7, 2007  10:40 AM ET

And the countdown to the opt-out begins.

This isnt like Randy Johnson though. I cant blame him.

June 7, 2007  10:44 AM ET

Arod is an *** he should never use that language in front of a...nah!...just kidding...who cares, good for him.

June 7, 2007  10:49 AM ET

Good for A-Rod. People who buy tabloids are scum.

June 7, 2007  10:58 AM ET

I buy the New York Post. I am, undoubtedly, scum.

June 7, 2007  11:01 AM ET

the Post is the worst thing in the world. the Daily News is better. then again, i don't read those for anything more than sports. if i want news, i use the NYT.

June 7, 2007  11:07 AM ET

the media are parasitic **** who add nothing of value to society 99% of the time...

June 7, 2007  11:08 AM ET

Even though i don't care.....(it's in the gossip part of the paper!)

Here's my 2 cents........If you have a picture of Alex & Cynthia out on the town AFTER A GAME (at night), then maybe you have a story. During the day, his nighttime buddies are sleeping. Where's the story here?

June 7, 2007  11:09 AM ET

Nice job A-Rod. Personally I would have told them to **** off after about 10 minutes. Actually more like 5.

June 7, 2007  11:13 AM ET

A-Rod...come to SD after you opt out...please!!!!

June 7, 2007  11:22 AM ET

I think his choice of words was wrong, but the message wasn't. The media needs to get a life. Better yet their needs to be some guidelines for them, right now they are willing to do what ever, say whatever just to get a story. Are their any clean reporters. The Media almost makes sports not fun.

June 7, 2007  11:25 AM ET

I originally didn't want A-rod to opt out. But after fabricated character assassination stories like this and the strip club one, I gotta think that A-rod deserves much better.

June 7, 2007  11:29 AM ET

Poor **** has more money than the state of Iowa, and everybody keeps following him around and getting in his way.Poor guy, I feel sorry for him.
Good point RI Sox Fan ;Transvestites are like bats !

June 7, 2007  11:33 AM ET

Good. For. Him. I cannot believe this is even an item. It's not newsworthy. The man is trying to spend time with his family and doesn't blow until 3 hours of being followed around. He signed up to play a game; he's not a movie star or pop star or red carpet hound. People have been writing crap about him and booing him and taunting him with masks and wigs and he's been gracious about it the whole time, has even said he knows that the opposing teams' fans like to have fun with him. He hasn't snapped. And now, because idiot photogs follow him around for 3 hours while he's with his family, he tells them off and it becomes a news item. Give me a break. You may not always like the way he plays his game (although he's one of the best I've ever seen), you may not like what he does in his off hours, but the man has been classy and respectful to the media and fans - both NY and opposing. Enough is enough. Leave him alone.

For being the self proclaimed capital of sophistication New Yor is pretty Bush League when it comes to cover their personalities. Really, who cares if he is banging a blonde. Move one Alex! Let New York enjoy the last few years off the overrated Derek "Can't do no Wrong" Jeter.
