Favre slams Packers GM off air
If Brett Favre's comments about the Packers in the first half of his interview with Fox News Channel's Greta Van Susteren didn't burn whatever bridge remained between the legendary quarterback and the organization, his comments that didn't air Tuesday night during Part II of the interview certainly will make matters worse. The second half of Van Susteren's interview with Favre was shortened -- apparently due to other breaking news -- during Tuesday night's edition of "On The Record." It's what Favre said that didn't run during Tuesday night's show that was particularly critical of general manager Ted Thompson. While Van Susteren's "GretaWire" on foxnews.com promised a full transcript would be posted, portions of the transcript leaked throughout the day Tuesday. Regarding his relationship with Thompson, Favre said: "Ted and I, I thought, have always had a good relationship. We don't talk a whole lot, we don't go out and eat and shoot the bull. But on three different occasions ... I don't want to say (he) lied -- I think that's kind of a harsh word -- but I think 'untruth' or whatever is (a) better (word)."

Excuse me? You thought you had a good relationship with Ted Thompson although you two don't talk a whole lot or go out together to eat or shoot the bull? Sounds to me like the kind of relationship where two employees see each other in the hallway at work and nod to one another in passing.

Help, I need somebody
Help, not just anybody
Help, you know I need someone, help
When I was younger (So much younger than) so much younger than today
(I never needed) I never needed anybody's help in any way
(Now) But now these days are gone (These days are gone), I'm not so self assured
(I know I've found) Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me
(Now) And now my life has changed in oh so many ways
(My independence) My independence seems to vanish in the haze
(But) But every now (Every now and then) and then I feel so insecure
(I know that I) I know that I just need you like I've never done before
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me
When I was younger so much younger than today
I never needed anybody's help in any way
(But) But now these daya are gone (These days are gone), I'm not so self assured

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me, get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me, help me, help me, ooh

If I were a Packer fan I'd be burning his jersey. He's had a great career but it's all about Brent. He just doesn't know when to let go. It's sad.

What a mess. Green Bay's season may be in the crapper before it even starts.

Cowdog88 - Most Packer fans like myself are not burning his jersey yet, but we are sick of him. They only drew 30 people to the pro-Favre protest in Milwaukee the other day and we are a city of over 1.4 million in the metro area. Go figure.
The national media has overestimated the important of Favre and our patience of him in Wisconsin. No player is bigger than the Green Bay Packers. No player.

Dont worry, 70 percent of this country is slamming Brett Favre behind his back so it all balances out. Go away and stay retired for once. And i agree that you shouldnt be let out of a contract because you retire. You will see these players retiring just so they can go get a bigger comtract somewhere else, like how they hold out now. Sorry Brett, you have a contract, so stay at home, or get traded somewhere you dont want to go.

Just rename the field Favre Field, the Lombardi Trophy the Favre Trophy, release him to pick his own team and all will be fine. How hard is that?

Let's see, TT sends out 'timeline' of when BF could have come back, and all kinds of stories about BF saying no, at the last minute.
The whole world knows BF took until June the past two years, when TT begged him to play, to make up his mind. It wasn't until June that his mind and body recovered enough to make a 100% commitment. But, BF came back, with a rebuilding process, because they let good guys get away, and he played.
This year, TT says he needs an answer before April. Pressure is on BF. We all know if he retires, in June, we may have a problem. TT created this mess. Not BF.
All TT had to do was wait until June, like the last two years, but he wouldn't give BF that luxury. TT is the GM. BF is a QB.
The worst part of this is that BF played one of his best years last year, with the team around him, and with Coach McCarthy helping him stay in the game plan. The team, led by McCarthy and Favre went 13-3. Taking out the QB from last year now, hurts them.
AR can sit for another year. He will go wherever he is offered the most money in 2 years. Best situation would be get BF back, start him, but give AR some playing time to really test him for consistent skill (not one game streaks) and to see if he gets injured.
TT is the one that caused this. BF is just the same great QB he has been, and he is exercising his right to play. TT can't stop him from that.

Favre isn't going to shut his pie-hole until Green Bay cuts him.
But, just to spite the ego-centric pee pee head I would keep him on the bench for the rest of his contract.
Favre is losing respect by the day for opening his yap.

Great idea. We could also change the name of the league to the National Favre League - won't even have to buy new monogrammed towels.

Surely one of the lousy teams would give up a draft pick or two for Favre. Give the baby his bottle and trade him to the crap teams like Miami, KC, Atlanta. As great as it would be to see him sitting on the bench, there is no way they could do that. Rogers throws one INT in week 1 and the Packer fans that right now are sick of Favre will be chanting his name.

He is burning bridges now... kinda sad after so many years with an organization that treated him so well. This will also follow him for a long time..should have rethought retirement before announcing and giving it a few months. It is a shame to see after he did so much for the Packers.. ebveryone loses now..
I have always like him but his choices are wrong and he should have just requested to return with the NFL and went from there with the Pack.
