Why Posey left the Celtics
After winning a championship in his lone season with Boston, James Posey has agreed to a four-year, $25 million contract with the Hornets, according to an NBA source. Posey's agent Mark Bartelstein has been seeking a four-year deal from the likes of Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Washington, Toronto and the Lakers. New Orleans decided to take the leap of faith by agreeing to the needed pact today. The Celtics were willing to give the 31-year-old the full-mid level exception over three years, which would have started at $5.5 million next season, but weren't comfortable with adding the fourth season.

This guy Posey appears to bring good luck with him, having won rings in Miami and Boston.
It looks as if he likes coastal cities as well. Miami, Boston, and New Orleans make a large triangle, and the vertex points are all on the South and East coasts. The team colors of those three franchises - red, green, and blue - are also used as the three primary video colors.
The other thing the three teams have in common are superstar guards - D-Wade, Paul Pierce, and now Chris Paul. However, that's not so unusual, since any top team needs at least one star guard. Besides, Pierce can play forward as well.

soliciting your enemies is not too wise heat fan. as for Posey damn he does make the Hornets better. If they build upon last year this team scares me. Chris Paul is a monster.

I'm a fan of Posey and I wanted him to stay in Boston..However, life goes on and I like Chris Paul and the Hornets as well..Good luck to them next year until its time to meet the East..

If the Hornets win the Championship then I'm going on record that James Posey belongs in the HOF.

Bad choice by Boston. Hornets got lucky by getting him cheap. 5.25 million a year is considered cheap for a guy who has experience, clutch, and a defensive stopper. Now the Hornets have a guy that can slow down player like Kobe, Ginobili, Carmelo, TMac, etc. That's a big plus for them. I just don't understand Boston's point of view. Boston is lacking guys in the 2 and 3 position and they have too much in the 4 and 5. Why not sign a guy you are accustom to and is not asking much. It will be hard to fill his void. Andre Iguadala is still out there but he will be too expensive. I don't understand.

This guy can't play until he is 35. Give me a break. The Hornets will probably get 2 decent years out of him.

Your High... this guy is the ultimate role player, if LA don't swing something the Hornets maybe running the West for the next couple of years.

Not to mention Posey comes off the Bench and doesn't play 42 min games, his body is alot less likely to start to break down early

Why'd he leave the Celtics? It's called money.

Joining the Hornets was smart, but for New Orleans to sign him to a 4 year deal was a questionable decision.

The 4 years is not a smart move by NO. Posey made a mistake here.....he'd be better off in Boston trying to defend the title. He'll be sorry when he is sitting at home during next year's finals.
