Tulsa coach Todd Graham announced Wednesday that sophomore quarterback Clark Harrell has decided to transfer. Harrell informed Graham of his decision early Wednesday, according to a Tulsa athletics department statement, and indicated he would most likely transfer to an NCAA Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) or Division II school so that he would be eligible to play this fall without having to sit out a year. Tulsa also announced Wednesday that former Texas quarterback GJ Kinne has joined the football program and will be ineligible for the 2008 season because of NCAA Division I transfer rules.

I thought Kinne committed to Baylor and not Texas?

Is this kinda like the Bears Superbowl shuffle?

Man, did we take Tulsa to the woodshed a couple years back! Nice to see they have recooped.

He committed to Texas, but transferred due to being buried on the depth chart behind McCoy, J. Chiles and S. Harris. The nail in the coffin probably was Garrett Gilbert's commitment to Texas.

Thanks D. Sliq. I thought he ended up at Baylor.

Could it possibly be THIS slow of a sports-news day?

Tulsa football?!?!?

Nothing happening over at Valdosta State?

Is colllege football really that boring right now?

July 19, 2008  07:49 AM ET

Seems like a good strategy on Kinne's part. Be able to play football at D-1 level and get a scholarship to a top-notch university ($817 per credit hour for undergrads)

Not a bad school, but the price per credit hour has nothing to do with that. There are plenty of better schools that have a lower price per credit hour. Overall, if he gets a free education from a decent school, and yes Tulsa qualifies, then that is a great thing!
