Camby 'insulted' by trade to Clippers

Still trying to come to grips with his trade from Denver to the Los Angeles Clippers, Marcus Camby talked candidly about his disappointment in the hours after his abrupt departure. "Blindsided, distraught, disrespected. All those adjectives. I definitely feel insulted," he said. "When I first heard about the trade, I felt like I was the scapegoat after all our past first-round exits and failures and lack of defense. I felt it was them telling me that I was no longer wanted and I was the cause of everything that went wrong the last couple years on this team."

He will be happy once he learns he will have Kaman at C, he will shoft to PF and Baron will be passing to them

quit cryin.....you big baby! keep it to yourself and just play ball. its not like the nuggets were gonna do much better than the clips anyways

July 17, 2008  04:41 PM ET

just play camby you make millions you will be fine...

July 17, 2008  04:45 PM ET

Guys are uder contract, everything is legal so what is he crying for ? He still makes his big money, so he should respect all thoses poor families that are struggling just to eat meet once a week. He is not respecting them. If I m right he went to Africa with NBA Cares... he should remember what he saw. Pure misery.

July 17, 2008  04:48 PM ET

He should feel insulted, he was traded for the right to swap picks if the team he's going to is worse than the one he's leaving. Someone else would have given more for him, many in fact. This and the Baron Davis thing makes me wonder what's up with the Clippers and if they're playing by the rules. The NBA needs a board to approve trades, as Popovich suggested after the Lakers were gifted Gasol a few months back. What gives???? Nuggets had many worse players, and if he's the scapegoat, they'll see they were wrong.

July 17, 2008  04:52 PM ET

Camby was FAR from the problem on this team. In fact he was the only line of defense on this underachieving overrated bunch of selfish player. Get ready NBA Point Guard, Shooting Guards and Small Forwards, the lane to the basket just opened up in Denver, where they were defensively-challenged to begin with. LOL

July 17, 2008  04:54 PM ET

camby's good and kaman as well. the newest tandem will definitely have a huge impact on the clippers' stat next season. and i guess, he's better off from the nuggets.

July 17, 2008  05:01 PM ET

Moe's right, the nuggets just gave up the only player they had who was dedicated to playing defense, b/c lord knows Carmelo ain't gonna do it. Camby has every right to feel insulted.

July 17, 2008  05:05 PM ET

he was their best defender but he was scapegoated by the nuggets...

July 17, 2008  05:06 PM ET

Once it sets in and he plays a few games he will be coo. Now would be a good time for BD to step in and talk to his team mate.

July 17, 2008  05:07 PM ET

Denver is goin to miss you! you may of never been the low post we needed but someone had to go.

July 17, 2008  05:12 PM ET

denver and golden state WILL NOT make the playoffs period

the clippers will aint that good enough for you camby?

the clippers are still a SF-jumpshooting-defender away from being anything serious though, clippers need to trade for one now as camby is about 34

July 17, 2008  05:27 PM ET

haha the clips will make one more major move this summer...

July 17, 2008  05:33 PM ET

The Thuggets will now average 115 points per game...while giving up 130.

July 17, 2008  05:36 PM ET

**** Camby! He's never did anything of significance and never contributed to the success of any team. I hope the Nuggets go far into the playoffs so he can see that they didn't need him and should have dumped him years ago!

Insulted! What does this guy think he is? Latrell Sprewell or something?

July 17, 2008  05:38 PM ET

Marcus, you got the money just shut it and play.

July 17, 2008  05:46 PM ET
