Should Islanders hire Quenneville?

Joel Quenneville is the man Snow should hire. He is fresh off a three-year stint with the Avalanche, having gone 131-92-23 but let go because his team was swept out of the second round by the Cup-bound Red Wings. Losing in the second round is no indictment around here. Quenneville did coach a banged-up, patched-together roster to a first-round win, something no Islanders coach has done since Arbour did it in 1993. He is known to be a teacher, defensive specialist and friend of Barry Trotz, the Predators coach whose longtime partnership with his general manager is the model Snow wants to replicate. Quenneville was the NHL coach of the year with the Blues in 2000, three years after Nolan won that award with the Sabres.

I'll answer the question with a question: Would Quennville want to join the circus that is the New York Islanders?

Hey, I got through ahead of that stupid website ad. Yippee! Should we report a violation against that clown or what?

Does Quenneville like paychecks?

And ..... does Snow Job and Little Wang think Joel Quenneville is stupid? You really have to be desperate to take that job!

Bob Hartley! Here he comes!

Maybe they shoud bring Al Arbour Bank, he was 1-0 last year, against the Pens too!

Quenneville is solid. if the Isles can get him to come, they should jump at the chance.

Quenneville is a good coach so the answer is... no.
When management is so inept, they do not deserve a good coach.

You've got a point BGM!

I don't think that this is a good fit for the Isles. Maybe they'll hire him and prove me wrong by doing great, but he has a very short fuse with the young forwards. He just doesn't get along with them very well. Part of why he was let go by the Avs was the way that he handled Wojtek Wolski, i.e. healthy scratch half the time. He does like young defensemen that are physical, which was why Jeff Finger played over Jordan Leopold all the time. If the Isles want to play their young guns, which was why Nolan was let go, Quenneville isn't the guy for that job. He'd be better suited working for TSN or something until a job with a veteran squad opens up next year (Vancouver Canucks).

Nawh! They'll hire Bob Hartley! Then, by Christmas, they'll fire him to cover for their own ineptitude as management and the sad product they put on the ice. I don't see any relief for the NYI fans any time soon.

On the heels of the recent most stupid debacle, why would Quenneville or any decent coach want to work with or for Snow. Why. Desperation could be their only motive and I doubt Quenneville is desperate. Perhaps Snow should look at the mess he's now created and simply resign. Never have I been as disappointed with an Islander move as I am with what Snow has done.

they let go the only coach who could get that sorry lineup to be a competitive team..... it looks like its time to prep TAVARES spot in the looker room.....lol

No. I thought I made it clear that Henry Winkler has the winning resume for the job.
