Dolphins QB's chain saw accident

Posted: Friday July 18, 2008 06:34AM ET

Dolphins quarterback Josh McCown vowed to quit using chain saws while he's still an NFL quarterback, but that pledge appears to be a few weeks too late. McCown, whose family owns a sawmill business in east Texas, cut the index finger on his throwing hand during an accident involving a chain saw July 3. The injury happened when McCown and his brother, Tampa Bay quarterback Luke McCown, were trying to clear brush and tree stumps surrounding the family's lakefront home in Jacksonville, Texas.

Josh, can't you afford a "yard boy"? I work cheap.....plus, I'm already missing both of my hands, and my right big toe and I see things a little blurry in both my eyes, on the weekends especially. I'd be perfect for this job!

With a name like BoBO, i don't for a second doubt what you're saying...

The story I read yesterday said his brother had the chain saw when the accident happened.

According to my sources someone told me that they saw his cousin holding the the chain saw 3 days ago.

he should have juggled kittens instead of chainsaws

They made a movie in Texas about chainsaw "accidents".

Put yourself in his place.......I just signed a $6 million contract to be a QB in the NFL..My little brother says hold this limb while I cut it with the chain saw inches away from your throwing hand.. yeah sure, start her up Luke.....glad it is not serious, but OMG..LMAO.

yet another example of why we all need to stop idolizing these stupid athletes. just b/c you're rich doesn't mean you're smart....

well since he has no arm, it would be kind of weird if he just had a hand floating around.

i applied for a landscaping job when i was younger.
the guy asked me if i had any problem with using dangerous tools like chainsaws and wood chippers.
i asked him if he had all his fingers and toes.
then i saw the bandage on his hand.
it turns out he had office duty because he had cut off his second finger and it was still healing.

Josh told his brother to "close your eyes, use the force Luke"

Yea but you have to remember they're both just mediocre quarterbacks in the NFL I don't think they wanna spend that kind of money when they could just do it theirselves..

Report Offensive Comment

For a second I thought his index finger was actually cut off O.o

Isn't this why we have illegal aliens in this country?

Take one chainsaw and two idiot Texans, and what else can you expect but injury? Just too bad W hasn't nicked his femoral artery while clearing brush in Crawford. Oh, well, can't win them all.
