Speed eyes Sprint Cup debut
Scott Speed is confident that he can make his Sprint Cup debut before the end of this season. The Red Bull-backed American will test a Cup car for the first time later this month, and has been racing in the ARCA and Craftsman Truck series this season after losing his Formula One drive with Toro Rosso 12 months ago. He hopes to continue full time in Craftsman Trucks next season but also wants to include several Sprint Cup outings. "I'm about to start testing, proper testing, in a Cup car with (Red Bull's lead driver) Brian Vickers," Speed told this week's Autosport magazine. "The car is quite a bit different from the Truck, but if it goes well, and I think I should be able to adapt, then we can go racing."

As long as Scott Speed respects all that is NASCAR he will be welcomed. Don???t come in here and try to push anybody around.
There are drivers that have serious racing to do while you are just learning, so remember to let the faster cars pass you without incident. Listen to your spotter and make sure you are clear so you don't spin anybody out. Don't ever make any wild- unpredictable lane changes. This unprofessional behavior will not be taken kindly by the other drivers. Follow the lead of the other young Toyota drivers who are in the hunt for a championship and you may one day be there too.

Scott is taking the right road and not pushing the issue too soon. He'll be a great one once he gets to Nationwide and Cup full time.

You are going to have to explain that to us Nascar fans who know nothing about F-1. Just make it short, cause I don't wanna know that much about it.

He didn't get along with the big wigs in F-1, and openly mentioned the fact the team couldn't give him enough speed to compete with the higher up teams. So he got the boot.
The team he drove for was junk too... A satellite to the Red Bull team.

He lost his f1 ride because he drove for a team that couldn't compete at the f1 level.
The team he drove for absolutely sucked and was one of the worst in F1. Things have gotten marginally better for the team. The team had scored a single point in the F1 constructors championship in the season and a half Speed drove for them. The reliability of the equipment is terrible, and they had bad luck as well brought on in large part due to poor equipment getting them in bad positions on the track.
Scott Speed had 11 Retired's (DNF's) in 27 F1 races. Many of those were due to mechanical failures.
In 44 total races (88 drivers as a 2 car team), The team has scored points in 5 of those 88 runs (top 8 finishes). Only once have both cars scored points.
This wasn't a matter of Scott Speed being able to drive, it was a matter of him driving for a team that can't get out of its own way.
