In one of the more shocking developments of the European summer transfer market, Brazilian superstar Kaka is reportedly ready to move to Chelsea in a record-breaking transfer. How much money are we talking? Try a $158 MILLION. Yes, say that one in your best Dr. Evil voice. WOW. Don't go buying the snazzy new Chelsea black uniform with Kaka on it just yet. AC Milan insists Kaka is not for sale.

I would sell Kaka' to Chelsea for that amount of money. You could buy half a team with that kind of dough.... No player is worth 100 Million Euros, except maybe Pele' or Maradona. That's why I think Real Madrid is crazy to offer that kind of money for a poser named C. Ronaldo.

The stupid high sums of money being bandied about are the reason this can't be taken seriously.

Looks like the RANDOM TRANFSER RUMOR GENERATOR spit out Kaka and Chelsea this morning.

Stupid Guardian...their article isn't even consistent with itself.

Ronaldino just got transfered to Milan for less than 40million. Kaka is worth at least 2/3 more.

It is my opinion that you should not spam this site.

Oh great here we go again....

Even IF it were to happen, and I highly, highly doubt it, this would make the pick up of Deco irrelevant. They play the same position and the same playmaker role. Not that rational thought is an Abramovich trademark or anything.

Abramovich just wanted to remind everybody that he had the most money in the football biz...

This rumor has been out there for a bit, maybe a couple of weeks. But I think you're right on ctsubasa. Abramovich likes to read his own headlines.

Stupid Guardian...their article isn't even consistent with itself.

This is also true. A rumor is useless untill a somewhat reputable News Agency reports it.

Abramovich is just starting trouble in my opinion. The midfield is already full even if Lampard leaves. Ballack, Deco, Essien, and Obi Mikel are 4 players for 3 spots. Kaka would push one of them even further down. Unless Scolari plans on playing a 4-4-2. With Anelka and Drogba up top. Deco on right with Essien holdin, Ballack playing behind the two strikers, and either Malouda or Cole on the left. I still see no space for Kaka. If I was Chelsea, I would rather have another striker to go with Drogba. With Valencia's problems David Villa wouldn't be a bad pickup, I think if they got Berbatov that would be a deadly combination with Drogba playing in the box, and Berbatov holding the ball up. Tempting.

158 million? Pull the trigger ACM!

July 20, 2008  07:02 AM ET

It makes sense since since they just got ronaldinho and chealsea is the team to beat right now. They are also rumored to have been talking to real madrid for Robinho.

July 20, 2008  09:26 AM ET

Chelsea has alot of Mids though. But if Lampard leaves that means Ballack, Deco, Mikel, Kaka, etc etc etc. Ballack and Kaka on the same sqaud would be sick

July 20, 2008  12:34 PM ET

Ctsubasa made a great point about Roman. I agree

July 20, 2008  05:24 PM ET

If Kaka Leaves Milan I'll be very upset.

July 20, 2008  05:44 PM ET

You could play a 4-3-2-1, with Deco, Obi Mikel, and Essien, playing behind Kaka and Ballack who are playing in support of Drogba. Still, that leaves no place for Malouda or Cole.

July 20, 2008  07:24 PM ET

If they get Robinho and Kaka, I say they would have a more talented roster than FC Barcelona and Manchester United.

July 21, 2008  04:36 AM ET

nah!!! milan wont sell Kaka, neither Kaka will play at EPL, Serie A is the best league in the world, why go to EPL...
