Giants-Brewers deal in works?
A deal that would send reliever Jack Taschner (2-1, 3.03) and veteran second baseman Ray Durham from San Francisco to Milwaukee is "in the wind,'' according to a National League executive. That possibility was first mentioned by FOXSports.com It was reported in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that a Brewers' minor leaguer, Class-A Brevard outfielder Darren Ford, was removed from a game Saturday, and that paper speculated he could be dealt soon, perhaps to San Francisco. Triple-A first baseman Brad Nelson, who has 12 homers and is batting .301, could be another player who'd interest the Giants. With young Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks playing better lately, it is believed Durham would serve as a utilityman in Milwaukee and possible second-base insurance in case Weeks went back into a hitting funk.

Good on the Giants if they can get good prospects for old used parts.

This deal will happen. The Giants need some hitters to go with their good young pitching. Durham isn't going to be around much longer, and wouldn't take up space in Milwaukee for the long haul. Taschner will contribute. The Brew Crew is going for it. Cubs fans, beware.

THis is a done deal at least the Durham half of it. Its on ESPN.com. And in the local paper the Street deal is also going through as well. That one I am not 100% sure though. Go Brewers

This deal makes total sense for the Brewers. Durham would enhance their chances greatly, and give them an alternative at 2B besides Weeks.
