Heat interested in Skinner

Few power-rotation players appeal to the Heat in this weak free agent class (heck, even 39-year-old Dale Davis is making a comeback), but Miami has expressed interest in 6-9 power forward/center Brian Skinner. Free agent center Kwame Brown is making visits with teams, but Miami did not book one.

at least Pat did not hop on the Kwame express. Browns next stop a breif tour of the D-League followed by a stint in europe. Skinner a 6-9 center power foward seems a bit undersized.

Miami needs a big. These schlubs aren't the answer.

July 20, 2008  10:57 AM ET

Yeah they want a cheaper power foward because there going to trade Haslem to the Bucks for Mo Williams!!!!!

July 20, 2008  11:01 AM ET

Why not resign Earl Barron who has improved this past season & he is still young he is 7 foot & can play powerfoward or center make a del with sense please do not ruin my Heaters we want 2 remain on a redemption path not a suck season again!!!

deal*

July 20, 2008  11:07 AM ET

the heat need some size, not another 6-9, 6-8 power forward type. if he gets signed he will be 3rd on the pf depth chart. and possably 3rd at center behind blount, and mourning if he comes back.

July 20, 2008  11:16 AM ET

heck my local YMCA team is looking for a center and THEY didnt even book kwame brown.

July 20, 2008  12:11 PM ET

haha they weren't that desperate.

July 20, 2008  03:05 PM ET

Kwame Brown is an EMBARSSMENT to the league-

That being said.....he'll get another chance- he's tall

July 20, 2008  03:16 PM ET

wheres heat fan when you need him?

July 20, 2008  03:19 PM ET

they want skinner to be a backup at PF because they are trading marion or haslem

July 20, 2008  04:03 PM ET

skinner or brown....hmmmmmmm nice options mr.riley

July 20, 2008  05:14 PM ET

It takes work to get your team 14-68. This is how you do it. You trade Udonis Haslem for a point guard that has apent half his career injured, then you go out and get Brian Skinner. Brilliant. Riley may be worse than Isiah Thomas.

July 20, 2008  06:26 PM ET

Hllywood you are such a hater it makes me sick.

July 20, 2008  06:26 PM ET

Umm...Hllywd they were 15-67...
or do u mean they will be 14-68 next year?

July 20, 2008  06:31 PM ET

they want skinner to be a backup at PF because they are trading marion or haslem

I am glad you LOVE your team - I hope you and they get what they want !!!

July 20, 2008  06:32 PM ET

Heat Fan, do you really want Skinner? And what is your team gonna do at C? Is Chalmers gonna start at PG? Who'll back him up? C'mon, you got the local pulse there. Share.

July 20, 2008  08:14 PM ET

If I were the Heat, I would trade Udonis Haslem, Stephane Lasme, Marcus Banks, and Joel Anthony to Milwaukee for Desmond Mason and Mo Williams. After this aquisition, resign Earl Barron and Chris Quinn. Sign Nenad Krstic.

C - Nenad Kristic, Mark Blount
PF - Michael Beasley, Earl Barron
SF - Shawn Marion, James Jones, Desmond Mason
SG - Dwayne Wade, Daequan Cook
PG - Mo Williams, Chris Quinn, Mario Chalmers

Now THATS a team.........

July 20, 2008  08:30 PM ET

miami needs to send Riley to south beach with the rest of the AARP people there. and start trading for starters. keep wade, chalmers, and beasley. everyone else is tradeable for an upgrade because you definatily need a good center. preferably some one over 6' 9".
