It doesn't look like the Nets will be working out any sign-and-trade deals for Bostjan Nachbar. According to legaue sources, Nachbar will sign with Dynamo Moscow in Russia. Don't have the terms, but I've heard it was a far better offer than he was receiving here.

rumor has it that the hawks josh childress might sign with a Euro team too. Might be the start of a trend

im a nets fan.. With that said.. It kinda hurts. He is a good bench guy, with a nice perimeter shot. (which we desperately need.) But, u gotta go where the money is..

Sucks.... He was a nice bench player for them

There have already been quite a number of international and american players in the nba going to europe. but these players either never made it in the league (like spanoulis, jasikevicius etc.) or were at the end of their career (like Dominique Wilkins). But players like Nachbar, Navarro and maybe Childress are in their prime and did contribute to their teams. Them leaving for Europe is somewhat surprising.

Damn it.

Good job Nachbar got a better contract.
Childress is leaving!

July 21, 2008  12:15 PM ET

$1.50 = 1 euro --- you do the math.

July 21, 2008  01:07 PM ET

He's reportedly getting $14 million. I would think he could get that here.

No one picked up on the fact that I said goodbye in Russian. I thought someone would have caught on to that one by now.

July 21, 2008  03:48 PM ET

I did. I just didn't mention it...

July 21, 2008  03:50 PM ET

Thanks ahung. Here, I am thinking I was all creative. I really was sitting here hoping someone pointed that out.

July 21, 2008  04:43 PM ET

We are going to start losing our international players thanks to the declining USD.Its sad how the economy is going to affect even the NBA

July 21, 2008  05:17 PM ET

Did you also know that some teams and country waive the income tax for there sports stars? Some players can insist on that type of contract. I would - U.S. and Canadian income taxes are about 1/2 to 1/3.
