Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo has not ruled out the possibility of a move to Los Angeles Galaxy at a later stage in his career. When asked if he might follow in David Beckham's footsteps, Ronaldo preferred to remain ambiguous. "I have time, I prefer to play in Europe," he said. "It's better in the moment, but in the future, no one knows." Of the female adulation he is receiving stateside, he jokingly replied: "Love you, no maybe because I play good football." "Beckham and Abel Xavier play there [Galaxy] and I spoke with [Xavier] a few times and he says it's great to play here. Maybe, maybe in the future you never know."

Wrong picture yet again. That's not Cristiano Ronaldo. That's Tranlove Ronaldo.

So in other words, when he is 42 he just wants to cash in on a massive check.

July 22, 2008  08:17 AM ET

Freaking noob **** writer doesn't even know soccer.

July 22, 2008  08:35 AM ET

I think Fatboy Trannie Lover might make it to MLS before CR7

July 22, 2008  08:48 AM ET

yet again, another picture of the wrong ronaldo. that ronaldo definatly needs to go to the mls. the other ronaldo can wait 10 years.

July 22, 2008  08:55 AM ET

Wrong Ronaldo, but maybe the Brazilian Ronaldo should come to MLS. Cristiano may come here but that won't be for another 7 to 10 years.

July 22, 2008  09:03 AM ET

I wouldn't mind the pictured Ronaldo coming to MLS. Just please don't go to the Galaxy. And at first I thought it meant right now. I almost pitched a fit.

July 22, 2008  10:03 AM ET

This is a pointless "rumor." It's basically saying he can't predict the future, yes I know what a shock!

July 22, 2008  10:09 AM ET

One day TNR will get pictures correct before posting. My favorite screw up with the confusion between Roy Williams the NFL player and Roy Williamns the Basketball Coach

July 22, 2008  10:10 AM ET

I agree with Hova, when I first read the title I thought they were talking about the Brazilian Ronaldo.

July 22, 2008  10:29 AM ET

Can the Galaxy survive an ego that large? Beck's is one thing. He's brought a lot of class and dignity to MLS soccer, he's an asset. But, Cristiano Ronaldo? He thinks he's bigger than the game!

July 22, 2008  10:30 AM ET

R9 (or is it R99 now?!) will be in the MLS real soon, as for CR7, not for a long long time

July 22, 2008  11:32 AM ET

I'm getting very tired of these non-stories/ non-truth nor rumors: " Euro Marquis Player X ( fill in the name--CR7, Totti, Figo, Henry, Sir Bobby Charlton...) will NOT categorically rule out the possibility of playing in the MLS in Y number of years....or when HELL freezes over...."

Don't you journalists have anything better to write about?

July 22, 2008  11:37 AM ET

t&r for soccer is sucking lately. why do i even go to this site any more, i have no idea. wrong pictures, old news, or non-news. christ.

July 22, 2008  11:41 AM ET

lol, so a quality footballer has mentioned he wont rule out moving to the MLS at the final stage of his career?? BREAKING NEWS!!!! in all honesty by the time C.Ronaldo is ready to move here, the MLS will be at a point to where we wont see a purpose in paying big $$$'s to attracted an aged winger.... hopefully we'll already have the fans so we wouldnt have to worry about getting them by a big name signing.... hopefully our acadmies will pump out quality players to fill the roster spots... i hate being deemed a retirement league :-/

July 22, 2008  11:43 AM ET

Yeah, the T&R here has been lacking. Well, it always has been lacking. Sad thing is that they won't even change the picture.

Oh well, if Brazilian Ronaldo comes he should go to the Red Bulls. I know, I have tried to make the "Fan and Race" argument before but there is a huge Portugese population in Northern New Jersey that they can tap into with Ronaldo on the Red Bulls.

July 22, 2008  11:44 AM ET

My bad, they did change the picture.

July 22, 2008  12:04 PM ET

Yeah and Messi may someday come. Maybe Kaka also. Torres might too.

See where I'm going with this.......

July 22, 2008  12:16 PM ET

A waste of talent...Soccer will never have the draw or power it does in the premier league. MLS is quickly becoming a retirment league for players who can't compete at the top level. It is to soccer what the Seniors tour is to golf.

MEATHEAD: What do you expect of a 13-year-old league with a minuscule salary cap, low salaries, not enough soccer-specific stadiums, etc.???

MLS is still sorting itself out and NO it will never be as big as the EPL. It's stupid to even put the two leagues in the same breath in terms of popularity. The English have had a pro league since before most of our grannies were born. MLS does NOT EVER HAVE TO BE AS POPULAR AS THE EPL in order to be respected. Why compare MLS to the BIGGEST league in the world anyway?? Gimme a break dude.
