With the non-waiver trade deadline 10 days away, General Manager Ned Colletti said the Dodgers could enter the market for a third baseman if they're unable to land a shortstop. The Dodgers don't appear to be interested in Oakland shortstop Bobby Crosby or Seattle third baseman Adrian Beltre.

Why would they want Beltre Back?

July 22, 2008  08:53 AM ET

The Dodgers need something to push them over the top.

JOE TORRE is doing good with out the useless people on the trade wire. he isn't going to get some useless person when he seems to be doing good with what he has now

July 22, 2008  10:17 AM ET

team isn't any better this year than they were last year...Torre is as over-rated as a manager can get...in NY, with All Stars galore and an unlimited payroll, it'd be hard NOT to make the playoffs...he doesn't have that in sunny LA.

Play "PABLO". He the man! Break up the Dodgers! Very wise and key decision Mr. Colletti. Knew you would come through. We at Dodger Nation are sorry that we doubted you.

I for one would like to see the Dodgers sign Textiera. Give up LaRoach and and the pitchning prospect Johnson and Hu.

Jimmer69 You are right. They are not any better than they were last year. They dont have to be. Look at the division. They just have to be good enough to win the division and make the playoffs. Torre is doing a great job even without the unlimited payroll like in NY. A chimp could have won those rings in NY. So with the Yanks struggles what does that make Girardi?

Actually, the Dodger are doing better, but cant say the same for the skankees. even the rays are better then they are with all their bought all stars.

trade andruw jones for somehting would be a start - something like, maybe, a Carl's Double Hamburger - that's fair

July 22, 2008  03:07 PM ET

oops - my spelling wasn't very good - but still Jones has got to go - in the sluggfest last night - jones still struck out 3 times - beltre is a good defensive player, with power

July 22, 2008  05:28 PM ET

Ned Coletti should package his pornstache and prospects for Jason Giambi's pornstache

July 22, 2008  05:47 PM ET

The Dodgers really need a younger Nomar and a MUCH Younger Kent and etc. etc. etc. ... I predict the Rockies win the West with not better than a .500 average. !!!

July 23, 2008  12:11 AM ET

the dodger's need new blood not old blood. Beltre has been there done that. move away from old mistake's of getting back the same player's

July 23, 2008  12:14 AM ET

i would bet on the Rockies to take the West also...and sadly i'm a 50 yr. long Dodger fan!

July 23, 2008  12:44 AM ET

Put 'Androo' on E-Bay.

About exactly where they were last year at this time with Torre at the helm

Um, this time last year, they had a 56-42 record...right now, they're 49-51.
