Packers shopping Favre to...
Posted: Wednesday July 23, 2008 06:12AM ET
As the Packers wait to see whether Brett Favre will indeed file his reinstatement papers with the NFL, the club is working its way through a list of teams it sees as potential trading partners for the sort-of-retired quarterback. According to a league source, the teams on that list include the Jets, the Ravens, the Dolphins and the Houston Texans in the AFC and the Panthers, Buccaneers, Falcons and Redskins in the NFC.

Like I said yesterday....if he wants to throw something, trade him to a minor league farm team. Like in the Mississippi delta, gator, tractor something or other league!! Just move on all ready man!

Report Offensive CommentI think Tampa Bay is the best team off the list. He would make them instant Division favorites and NFC title contenders.

Report Offensive CommentGlad to see Farve is a driven, motivated individual. He wasted no time tarnishing his legacy after his "retirement".

Report Offensive CommentFan of Football.. you're crazy. Brett Favre doesn't make anybody instant contenders for anything. The only reason the Pack played so well last year is because their defense got a lot better, they eventually found a running game, and McCarthy made Brett Favre throw shorter, safer passes instead of slinging it all around the yard and eventually killing them like he had been doing the past few years (and eventually did in OT agains the Giants... does any great player in any sport kill his team more often than Favre without ever getting called out for it?)

Report Offensive Commentbigdog: "they eventually found a running game,"
Do you mean eventually after the first half of the season where they went 8-1 exclusivly off of Brett's throwing arm? This with no running game in support and teams staking the defense in Nickle and Dime coverage.
Funny, I saw none of those "shorter, safer passes" in last minute wins against San Diego, KC, and the overtime win in Denver.
Did you even watch a game last year? I doubt it

Report Offensive CommentScpalo - takes you to 5th base ..The approximately $10 million the Redskins had under the cap just went to Taylor....Right now they could not add Chris Simms let alone Favre to their payroll..

Report Offensive Commentas a Falcons fan I'd welcome him to the team. That would be awesome. It would give Matt Ryan our # 1 draft pick a year to learn from one of the greatest qb's to ever play the game.
It can't hurt!!!
Also it would be cool to see Brett finish his HALL OF FAME career where he started.
