Horry might be forced to retire

It is appearing more and more like Robert Horry's days as a Spur are over. Horry, who won two of his seven NBA championships with the Spurs, has said he wants to play a 17th NBA season and would prefer to do it in San Antonio. However, dialogue between Horry and the Spurs has been scant. Kurt Thomas' decision to re-sign could mark the end of Horry's days in silver and black. Unless Horry attracts interest elsewhere, he could be forced to retire, putting an end to his distinguished career as one of the top NBA role players of all-time.

"Unless Horry attracts interest elsewhere, he could be forced to retire," lol ya unless he attracts interest... of course he will!! retire? lol, no way he'll retire yet... even if he doesn't end up with the spurs there are A LOT of teams who could use him on their roster.

Alot of teams want a decent shooting big man on their team...he might get a few more years.

July 23, 2008  01:14 PM ET

He can come to the Celtics! He might fill P.J. Brown's shoes quite nicely...

July 23, 2008  01:28 PM ET

old vet looking for a ring...sounds celtics bound just like the rest of them.

July 23, 2008  02:21 PM ET

7 championships..he played beside 3 bonafide hall of fame big men..he earned all of their respect..he's been a clutch shooter and a very versatile defender...he's a natural small forward who earned 4 of those rings playing power forward...please stop your hating ladies

I hated him while he was at Houston and LA. In fact, I think he threw the series against LA in the 2004 Playoffs which cost the Spurs big! Nevertheless, we would have not beat Detroit in the 2005 Finals without him as well as won many other games. Finally, I will always love him for hip checking that punk Nash into the scorer's table. HAHAHA! Way to go Horry! Good luck in your future endeavors!
