The A's continue to talk with the Pirates about left fielder Jason Bay, but a trade remains unlikely - the Pirates want more than the A's are willing to give. The A's are trying to build a long-term contender as they prepare for the opening of their new ballpark in 2012. Acquiring Bay for the rest of this season and next season would do little to help them accomplish that goal.

I still think Pittsburgh should keep the proven players and trade the prospects for pitching prospects. All their core players are still young.

It appears that the Pirates are asking more for Bay than anyone is willing to pay. I think they aren't committed to moving him, that is why the price is so high. I agree with CF2, and I've said it before on FN......I hope the Pirates keep their players and move toward contention.
