Can you blame a guy for not wanting to sign a long term deal with a team that has made the playoffs once in the last 10 years or so? Don't know this guy all that well and if it's about money or winning with him, but there's something to be said about not watching the playoffs each year.

Why would he want out of a franchise going nowhere, with no support?

He wants free agency. No way him or anyone in their right mind wants to stay for a long term gig in Florida feeding off the kelp at the bottom of the lake bed.

It definitely AIN'T about the money... the team and organization is going nowhere. IF any expansion teams should pack up and move anytime soon, Florida should be the first.

Shouldn't this headline read "Why wouldn't Bouwmeester want out?" He leaves and he'll cash in most likely with something close to Brian Campbell money and have a much better shot at winning a cup.

Sure he wants out of Florida...he sees the team going nowhere in the standings and struggling attendance-wise.He is on a sinking ship and could you really blame him for wanting to bail? He will get his wish,the team will struggle,and he will get traded to a contender sometime next February.
