Newman questions Penske effort

08:22 AM ET 07.23 | Ryan Newman joked on Tuesday that Tony Stewart had called and offered him a ride in one of the Sprint cars that Stewart owns. As for the speculation surrounding Newman's possible move to the Stewart co-owned Stewart-Haas Racing next season in the Sprint Cup Series, Newman revealed little. Newman said that the Penske operation as a whole isn't as strong as it has been in previous seasons such as 2003 when Newman won eight races and 14 poles in his No. 12 car. Since opening the season with a 1-2 finish in the Daytona 500, all three Penske teams have struggled. Its drivers -- Newman, Kurt Busch and rookie Sam Hornish Jr. -- are 16th, 18th and 33rd, respectively, in the series points standings.

If they dumped Hornish, maybe with the money they save they can build up the other 2 cars. Just because one team has 4 drivers doesn't mean you have to keep up with the jonses and field the max yourself.

Way to present yourself to future employers, by whining and crying about your current team. The one who gave you all the good equipment to win all those races including the Daytona 500.

No matter the spin that Newman puts on it, this all seems selfish.
"If you don't give me a competitive car I will go somewhere else"
You think he would have had the nerve to tell Roger Penske that When he was a rookie looking for a ride?
Now that he has enough money to last him five lifetimes he is giving ultimatums to the organization that put this money in his pocket.
This isn't BAM racing its Roger Penske and he has the resources to get a handle on this new car and become competitive.
I don't want to hear from Newman that he had to take care of HIMSELF and look out for HIS future. He needed to show some loyalty to the organization that gave him everything he has now.
Be part of the solution at penske not part of the problem (like being a major distraction) and EVERYBODY could move toward success together and EVERYBODY'S future could be guaranteed, not just yours.

Good point Asbel. All these drivers complain that their owner didnt give them proper equipment....and we all know part of the reality is WHAT am I going to get paid?

Take a look at his 2003 stats Meathead......that should shut you up with the blithering Newman posts you have elegently twanged the last couple days. I believe that far exceeds any campaigns by your boy ahole Harvick.
