Favre used a team cell phone to talk?! What an idiot! Didn't he think they (Packers) would get the bill and know what the scoop was?

I read somewhere that if he does have a team cell phone, that it's a salary cap violation if it's not included in his cap number. Anybody know how true that is?

He used a phone that was issued to him by the team.......if this is true, he's a double moron! They will be making "South Park" cartoons about this crap!!

The commissioner, as usual, does not want to make a ruling on this mess and wants the Packers to work it out themselves.....If the Vikings were that dumb, then they deserve to lose a draft pic or two..They do not deny it, that should tell you something..

I would imagine if the Vikings respond or take the call and chat, they tampered. Even if brett initiated it they would be obligated to not respond.

That's the same question I asked yesterday. How can they call for an investigation of the Viking on this if Favre is the one who initiated contact?

It is not a court of law, it only has to smell like a duck to be called one...The commissioner is a judge and jury of one..All text messages are erased by the provider after a certain number of days, so no record of exactly what was written can be found....The Viking coach and OC will be called in to a meeting with the league office to explain what it was that the messages were about...Favre is not even a member of the league because he has never asked to be reinstated yet...I suspect it is the duty of the team to report to the league offices any activity that is prohibited by the league...The Vikings will most likely be penalized in some way when it is all done....

Thanks 50yearfan. I've got high hopes for the Vikings this year but they don't include Brett. I think he should go to the Jets.
