Two-team race for Sundin?

Posted: Thursday July 24, 2008 07:20AM ET

Mike Gillis figures it's now a two-team race and the Vancouver Canuck general manager still believes he has more than a decent chance of landing free-agent centre Mats Sundin. Gillis has not had any recent discussions with Sundin, but read his comments that were published in a Swedish daily on Monday. "What I took from it was that it sounds like he is considering two teams, Toronto and us," Gillis said in an interview Tuesday.

It's Not!

Sundin is like the hot chick that keeps stringing along 2 guys to see who she wants to be with. In the end, I hope he gets knocked up!

For the LOVE OF GOD, T&R...Give the Sundin speculation a bloody rest!

Report Offensive Comment

obviously, hockey news is WAY too slow in the summer months

Report Offensive Comment

This has been drawn out for way too long. Come on Mats just sign back in TO, play for a **** team for a couple of years ,then retire and whine about never winning a cup. Pretty sure everyone knows thats what you're gonna do anyway. Stop pulling a Temmu and do it.

I'm almost wishing for a Forsberg foot update at this point.

One of the regulars suggested the boycott a couple of days ago. (Apologies, I forget who). But let's see if we can implement it a little.

I thought maybe Green Bay could sign him to replace Favre, and Favre could go play in Toronto

Report Offensive Comment

If he signs with either one, shows you he is not interested in playing for a real contender (Wings,Pens,Sharks, for example)...just wants the money. Then again, the contenders don't really seem to express any interest whatsoever...methinks his asking price is too high for them to consider...what a joke.

Report Offensive Comment

What the heck is wrong with taking a little less money and being on a club that has a legitimate shot at the Cup in the next season or two? Oh,I know...it is called: greed, ego and stupidity.

Alright everyone, since we're all S&T of the Mats indecision...

Let's start a new topic... anyone read the article by Alan Muir on the huge paydays of the RFA's? I usually don't like his articles very much, but I must say his was the best I've read anywhere in a while. He makes some good points, including his comments about GM Kevin Lowe, whom many on here seem to unconditionly defend.
