Why not? Is there a better #4 defenseman right now in the league? This guy still is a horse, can log 20-25 mins. game and play his usual nasty game in his own end. This guy certainly is a throwback, enjoy him while he lasts. After the great ones go, we miss them. Let's hope Chris plays another three years at his usual high standards. He is an unquestioned leader in that room, and his physical shape is a marvel, considering his age or not.

Sportsnamship? Who cares. I would love to see more athlete's take losing as hard as Chelios, rather than smooch and hug at centre ice and wish each other a happy summer, from one millionnaire to the next. At least we know this guy cares a whole lot, not like many other spoiled athletes like Yashin, Kovalev etc....

BUT NOBODY AROUND OR WITHIN THE DUCKS HAS MUCH TO SAY ABOUT SPORTSMANSHIP, PLUS THE WAY THE GAMES WENT DOWN AGAINST THE DUCKS, YOU CANT BLAME THE GUY. AND THE WAY HE BRINGS THE GAME SPECIALY AT 44 IS SIMPLY AMAZING. GO CHELI GO HASEK !

Sportsmanship has nothing to do with it. It's an outdated phoney tradition that needs to be done away with as who the heck cares anyway. Maybe they should start a "Love in" following the SuperBowl or the World Series. Anaheim now has their fifteen minutes and you won't see it again for another dozen years or so. Detroit is clearly a better team and should have walked through that series except for a couple of bad breaks, horrible officating (for both teams) and cheap injury intended shots from Pronger who should be sitting out the next season after getting suspended TWICE in one series. If the league is trying to kill the game, they have a great start, check the ratings. I may be mistaken but I believe they were the absolute worst ever by two teams that never should have made it past the first round. Parting shot...GET HULL THE &*%$ OFF THE TUBE BEFORE HE TOTALLY DISGRACES THE GAME. If he is the best the network can come up with I'll come out of retirement and do it for expences only. It is unbelieveable he is getting paid to be a total fool every time he opens his mouth. It is a perfect example of why he was so dispised in the locker room by every team he played for. It's a shame for such a great player to never have learned when to keep his mouth shut. If they (NHL) wants a shock jock, go get IMUS.

Cheli was my idol playing as a kid , he's a hockey treasure. players like this are rare now.

While he is still a good player at his age, he is classless. To not shake hands with the other team after a playoff series it total BS and shows what type of player he truly is.
