Jays shopping Halladay?
The whispers just won't go away. Roy Halladay is apparently unhappy in Toronto and has let management know it, and management has apparently responded by doing some quiet surveying of teams (such as St. Louis and the Dodgers) that are far, far away from the AL East in an effort to see what it could get for the 2003 Cy Young Award winner. Apparently, the returns other teams are getting for top-talent pitchers such as C.C. Sabathia, Rich Harden and Erik Bedard has inspired the Blue Jays to at least find out what it could get for one of the best pitchers in the American League.

Wow. I doubt the Cards would pay the price, but I'd love to see this guy in St Louis. How tough would a rotation feturing Halladay, Carpenter and Wainwright be? I'm not sure what his contract status is, but Halladay would make a great Cardinal.

i may be biased cos i'm a jays fan but i'm pretty sure this is just a rumour..it has to do with some comments he made at the all star game..yes he's frustrated but i think he'll put up with it until the start of next season..then maybe he'll go

True, the Dodgers would be the best-equipped out of that bunch. Still, they need hitting more than they need pitching.

I'm sure it's just a rumor; but, yes Halliday is absolutely worth dealing premium prospects. He's signed through 2010.

I hope Cashman can land him...although the Jays would be stupid to trade him within the division.

I agree, TBJ, I figure this is a very unlikely possibility and is just a rumor, but if the Jays are going to move him, I hope Mozeliak gives it serious consideration.
Chris - I think I would probably part with Rasmus and Anderson and one of the young pitchers to land Halladay....

whoops...sorry bout that
I probably could've done more research on this, but would it be that far fetched for the brewers to go after him? They have continually expressed how they want to win now and are willing to give up premier prospects. (Which they still have many) And the fact that Sheets and Sabbathia are most l ikely gone after this year the brewers would have Halladay till 2010. They could drop the McClung and Bush platoon...and have arguably one of the best starting 5 ever compiled....Sabbathia, Sheets, Holladay, Parra, Suppan....I can dream.

bk2scu - there have been better starting rotations.
See Atanta circa 1996. They had three HOF and two all-star starters. Maddox, Glavine, Smoltz, Avery, and Neagle. They didn't win the WS.
There have been others; but, that rotation is the best in recent memory.

I have noticed that. Our common theory is that he is seriously pressing with men on base. I hope he isn't hurt in some way......and just playing through it.

The games I've watched I saw Albert swinging at pitches well off the plate. He's dropping them for hits; but, he can't drive them with any power.

Any team would be crazy not to deal a few prospects to get Halladay. I would love to see this guy pitching in the playoffs, just not against the Red Sox. He is one of the best 5 pitchers in baseball right now.
