Giant: 'Boys trying to buy Super Bowl

The Giants are a bit perturbed, not only that nobody is picking them to repeat as Super Bowl winners or even get back to the Super Bowl, but that every time they look up, somebody else is calling for the Cowboys to win the NFC East even though the Giants went into Texas Stadium in January and eliminated Dallas from the playoffs. "Maybe it's because Dallas tried to buy a Super Bowl this year," Giants defensive end Justin Tuck said right after reporting to camp Thursday. Can you buy the Super Bowl? "I don't think so," Tuck said.

I'm playing the worlds smallest violin for Justin Tuck

Its kind of heard to repet when the Giants lose players like Mitchell, Wilson, Strahan and Shockey and the Cowboys defense is stronger with signing of Z.Thomas and A. Jones.

*hard

Apparently Coughlin doesn't understand the word "prediction". Plus, who wouldn't pick the Cowgirls to win the division? Their loaded with talent!

July 25, 2008  07:01 AM ET

Thank you, sort of.

If you know football, you know the Cowboys are stacked.

Everyone keeps getting scared because who is the 2nd WR??? Crayton gets me so mad but he will be fine. TE Martellus Bennett will get about 25-30 Rec. and RB Felix Jones will get lots of catches as well.

The Cowboys added tremedous fire power to the Secondary. I am amazed at how good we got. Now teams really have to worry there are no more Jaques Reeves or Nate Jones back there. The Biggest Impact positions will be Special teams. The Cowboys finally have two big time players at KR and PR. Watch out. Now we have a WAY BETTER Defense and Special teams that could rival the Bears.

Words, words, words......

July 25, 2008  07:31 AM ET

Everyone in the NFC East who are not the Dallas Cowboys should be. Every team goes into training camp feeling as though they can contend. Why shouldn't the defending Superbowl Champions share that sentiment? This seems like a thread intended to encourage everyone to extol the virtues of their respective favorite teams while "pooh-poohing" all others.

July 25, 2008  07:33 AM ET

I left off the word "upset" from the end of that first sentence. I don't want to be mislabeled as a Cowboys fan.

July 25, 2008  07:50 AM ET

As a Giants fan I've learned to be a humble person and I must admit 3 things.
No we are not going to repeat as previously stated. We are not going to make the playoffs and lastly the Eagles will win the division.
Who is the only QB with a world and universe championship right in the NFC East...Thank you.
Who has made it to most superbolws since 2000 in the NFC East? Thank you.
As much as it pains me, I can not say repeat not no mo'...so please don't say it.
One more thing I know is that the Girls will not win a playoff game this year either.

July 25, 2008  07:52 AM ET

the Eagles will win the division.
I is the man | 07/25/08, 07:50 AM

The same Eagles that finished last in the East last year?

July 25, 2008  07:55 AM ET

If not my Giants I rather hope for the Eagles...rahter than the Girls or Skins

July 25, 2008  07:56 AM ET

The same Eagles that finished last in the East last year?
Hank Hill | 07/25/08, 07:52 AM

You say that like they went 3-13. Check the history of NFC East standings since 2000.

I think the Eagles will finish 3 in the Division and take the last playoff spot, but there not going to win the division

July 25, 2008  08:03 AM ET

Its the most competitive division in the NFL. A couple injuries here or there and four different teams can win, Giants, CowGirls, the Beagles or the Foreskins.

July 25, 2008  08:07 AM ET

I remember he experts saying last year the Giants were going to finish 4-12.
I wonder what they are saying this time. 1-15 perhaps?
The Beagles? That's a new one, funny.

July 25, 2008  08:08 AM ET

My sources that picture of Coughlin was taken right after hearing that Shockey had been traded..

July 25, 2008  08:10 AM ET

I don't want to be mislabeled as a Cowboys fan.

Keepinitreeuh | 07/25/08, 07:33 AM

That would be embarrassing, wouldn't it?

July 25, 2008  08:10 AM ET

Buy a superbowl? Trading and picking up quality players is buying a superbowl? Well, I guess every team is guilty of that then. Excuse me, I thought the goal was to win the superbowl and do anything it takes to get it. The Giants have become so freakin' arrogant with their "we did this with subpar players." Well, so did the Ravens and the Bucs. Who cares. They got very lucky. The planets aligned correctly and all the aces were coming up too. Whatever you want to call it. This season will redeem the Cowboys, the Eagles, and maybe even the skins. The Giants will get theirs and they will be put back in the place they most surely belong; last!
