Many states have county and municipal jails that are limited to sentences of a year or under. Even with a federal rap, you can try to do your time locally in one of those jails where in theory the other offenders are short timers and less violent.

Giving a year and a day is the courts way of saying you absolutely will serve your time in a federal prison.

He needs to go to jail for being a very bad boy.

2 1/2 years is plenty enough time for him to write his book. I don't think we've heard the last from Mr. Donaghy.

Less then 3 years is all you get for messing the NBA? That's crazy. So if he made millions and kept it somewhere then he could come back very rich in 3 years and also maybe write a book.

Yeah Hllywd, I think he'll write a book totally insulting the NBA like Phil Jackson did about the Lakers dissing Kobe...

but how 'bout the nba itself?? i;m sure there's more dirt than just one refree. i have no confidence in stern, i'm not attending a single NBA game nor buying the leasgue pass (I have from past 3 yrs)
