Believe what you like...I have a HUGE pair and it isn't because I am packin heat. Just sayin that when you size someone up and you are pretty sure a beatin may be comin, a shot to the knee is usually a show stopper. This day in age if you aren't holding a weapon, someone is liable to jack you up. When they try and YOU pull out a hand cannon, unless they are mental they will be on their way quickly.

Speakin of needin a shot to the knee, where is my whipping boy Big_Perm today? He is like a side of beef.....you can pound on it all day and for some reason it never gets old.

I guess I understand with what you are saying AMMO, but I don't agree with it. Why are you sizing someone up, and then backing out with a gun? If you are already at that point of sizing someone up, shouldn't you just fight him? That's gotta be in the Honor Code or something somewhere. I fought, and beat bigger guys. Bigger doesn't mean better. Usually it just means slow.

Correct Robert, but if I am getting sized up and I know for a fact I am gonna get pounded or he has 3 buddies with him to help lay the boots to me, having back up is the only soution. I understand when you say honor code, but when the other guy has none you fight fire with fire firepower. I can easily handle myself one on one but if the situation escalates out of hand I like to ensure i am not the one on the losing end.

AMMO, I agree with the "if he has none" comment. But you carrying a gun and that guy wanting to jump you could possibly only lead to you being shot or stabbed. People who want to jump people are up there on the list of the biggest cowards and usually carry weapons of some sort. So you might get him, but his friends might get you. I'm all for protecting yourself with a gun if your life is in danger. But not for fighting. They pull out a weapon, then by all means use yours.

I don't know. Everyone has different situations. I lived in the ghetto up until I graduated high school. Got into a few fights, but when I did, I beat them down so bad, most wouldn't want to fight me. I think I've been in a total of nine 1on1 fights, losing none. I've been in huge 20 person brawls too. Those are quite entertaining. And I've also been on the receiving end of a jump. It didn't last long, because some of my friends saw what was happening, and we ended up kicking those guys ****.

But not once has a weapon been pulled on me because someone wanted to fight me. I have a gun pulled on me twice, but that was because those 2 idiots are retarded. Long story.

Totally understand Rob, and you being from Austin and Texas's liberal gun laws, you know there is a good chance the dude that you are going to be scrappin with is going to be packin also. I have had to pull mine 4 times and each time no shots were fired and the situation never blew up. I simply stated that if they proceeded I would disable them. When you pull it out and aim for their knee and not the face, they know you mean business because anyone who is willing to pull it isn't going to try and kill, they are trying to put a stop to the situation at hand.

It'd be pretty fun to try... I have a rather nice optics setup too, I normally use the -06 when I sit on the 40 acre field. I've got the 30/30 WInchester for the brush.
