Steroids don't give you talent. They allow you to train and recover as you would not otherwise be able to. Why do people take them? They believe they can get an edge, that they will enhance their performance. The asterisk stays.

Just because everyone doesn't become the greatest doesn't mean that others haven't benefitted more. This guy may not have made the big leagues without them, or been able to perform and stay. Maybe he did gain at the expense of some other kid that never got the chance. No more defending steroid use. They are illegal, immoral, and indefensible.

Until the nats get rid of the likes of Lo Duca and the person that consistently makes bad player and management decisions, Jim Bowden, they are going to be destined to fall in the cellar year after year. I don't care if they have "the plan" in place. Until they get competant front office management, it's over.

Using is cheating. Period. Different people may get different things from them, some more some less. Some are naturally better to begin with, have more drive, have some innate knack, whatever.... The players should all follow the rules, and law, and not take steroids. This is so not complicated.
