What if Sundin snubs Canucks?

Consider the following scenario: Mats Sundin returns to the Maple Leafs, leaving the Canucks and their two-year, $20 million offer on the table. New Canucks GM Mike Gillis would then be forced to make a deal to land a top-two center. One NHL agent suggested that Washington, with Nicklas Backstrom and Sergei Fedorov projected to be centers 1 and 2, could deal ex-Bruin Michael Nylander to Vancouver. Another option for Gillis would be to inquire about Ottawa center Antoine Vermette, currently scheduled to go to arbitration.

The Nucks' need massive help. They should forget about Sundin and try to get BOTH other players mentioned. LOL

They would be better with Vermette and Nylander. If they stand pat, they are screwed.

I don't see the caps dealing Nylander. They're a team who is dying to win a cup and Nylander will stay. I do agree that Caps have alot of depth at the Center position, but that doesn't matter. they won't trade any of them unlees a really good offer comes up, maybe for a top-notch defender

I think if Sundin snubs the Canucks it would re-affirm my opinion that he has more than 2 active brain cells.
