08:52 AM ET 07.27 | Nuggets guard Carmelo Anthony actually thought he was the one who had been traded before learning teammate Marcus Camby had been dealt recently to the Clippers. "Everybody was blowing my phone up," Anthony said. "So I picked up my phone and called back someone who said, 'Did you hear what happened?' I said, 'Where am I going now?' I was just laughing and joking [before the trade] about how much was involving the Denver Nuggets right now. So I was like, 'Where am I going?' They said, 'Camby got traded.' I said, 'Let me call you back,' and I got off the phone."

typical, article left out the concerning comments made by carmelo

'Camby got traded.' I said, 'Let me call you back,' and I got off the phone. It was tough to see a guy like that, especially for me, this is my fifth year and I played five years with Camby, it was like we almost started an organization together. To see a Defensive Player of the Year just leave like that for nothing, I still don't understand that."

('nothing') it was a salary dump you peanut - anthoney 's IQ is certainly under 50

he still dosent realise how crap the nuggets are and they are stuck with nene and kenyon for years to come on big money and now even less defense

July 27, 2008  10:03 AM ET

you are giving him alot of credit there on his IQ. I rank it somewhere between cross eyed and drooling on himself and the short bus window licker kid.

July 27, 2008  10:05 AM ET

nuggets won 50 games last year in the Western conference. not exactly a "crap" team.

July 27, 2008  10:10 AM ET

Proves my theory that some people shouldn't talk to the media...

July 27, 2008  10:21 AM ET

no just appitizers for the contenders.

July 27, 2008  10:27 AM ET

Doesn't matter. Denver is done.

July 27, 2008  10:33 AM ET

50 games means nothing when you get smoked in the first round of the playoffs and wont be back this coming season

hllywd is right denver is done!

July 27, 2008  10:35 AM ET

I believe a 67 win team had the same type of playoffs as Denver, 1st round exits. Denver is trying for the freeagent lottery in 2010.

July 27, 2008  11:33 AM ET

...they're gonna suck next year no defense whatsoever...

So you think that after 20 years of obscurity, they're willing to tank the next 2 years to MAYBE get a player for the '10-'11 season? Get a clue. By that time, the players they have now that are still in the league, will be trying to get away; and the players they are trying to acquire won't want to play there. What we're seeing is just an example of piss-poor management.

July 27, 2008  11:47 AM ET

Melo doesn't believe in defense and is prone to sporadic street-level, immature antics. The guy is a time bomb for juvenile behavior.....and he can't help it. That's just him. He doesn't know any better and can't stop himself. Very much an individualist.

July 27, 2008  12:50 PM ET

"Trade scare" ........okay, now I just survived it!

July 27, 2008  02:03 PM ET

Lucky him. I know a lot of people who don't survive those "trade scares". High fatality rates involved with those things.

July 27, 2008  02:34 PM ET

Didn't this happen around 2 weeks ago? Why are we hearing about him surviving a scare now? Did he just realize Camby had been traded?

July 27, 2008  04:09 PM ET

What a trooper! He'll wish it was him when the Nuggets miss the playoffs next season. Especially if the Clippers somehow go into the post season.

July 27, 2008  04:15 PM ET

yo, this creepy **** "winstrap" has a picture of a shirtless 15 year old girl as his avatar.

July 27, 2008  05:11 PM ET

Get rid of Melo. No defense. Let his "stop snitchin' stop lyin" antics become another organizations headache.
