Angels in market for reliever

If the Angels make a move before Thursday's non-waiver trade deadline, it appears more and more likely it will be for a pitcher to bolster their bullpen or add rotation depth, not a hitter. While there are few quality bats available, there is a bustling market for relievers that is believed to include top-tier left-handers Brian Fuentes (Colorado), George Sherrill (Baltimore) and Will Ohman (Atlanta) and right-hander Huston Street (Oakland). The Angels like Francisco Rodriguez, Scot Shields and Jose Arredondo at the back of their bullpen, but they might look for a middle-relief upgrade over Darren Oliver and Justin Speier, or a starter who could step in if one of their pitchers gets hurt.

if Baltimore is going to be so dumb to get rid of their closer, they should trade him to a team that can't come back to haunt them, he would need to go to an NL team. the same with OAK's Hudson Street, as much as the Angels play Oakland they wouldn't want their ex closer to be facing him every couple of weeks.

Why would that be dumb? The Orioles don't care about 2008. Their closer will return next year. Even if he doesn't, they can find a closer.

Sherrill's value is very high right now. He has a high WHIP, and ERA, but has done the job. It would make sense to trade him away if they found a good offer.

my opinion trade frankie, prospects brandon wood and nick adenhart, a future 1st round draft pick, and another not so good prospect for Texeria and Ohman. Put Shields as your closer, arredondo 8th inning and ohman and speir at 7th inning. Put Texeria at DH and trade Riveria and/or mathhewrs for prospects. just an opinion

You know what, the Angels NEED to get either George Sherril or Huston Street because KROD won't resign with them.
