Rockies want young starter for Fuentes
The Rockies remain willing to trade closer Brian Fuentes if they can acquire a young starting pitcher whom they could plug immediately into their rotation. Someone like Marlins right-hander Anibal Sanchez would qualify, but the Fish consider Sanchez too steep a price. Phillies lefty J.A. Happ could be another possibility, and the Rays have a host of options at Class AAA

I don't suppose they would consider Joel Piniero a young starting pitcher.....would they??

It really makes sense for the Rockies to get a trade done. They need the starting pitching way more than they need Fuentes. If they get it done then maybe this trend of 3-4 wins then 1-2 horrible performances by starting pitching will end!

Yeah, Wainwright I think I'd give up Boggs or Parisi for him. I've also heard that teams are pretty interested in getting Jess Todd from the Cards.

The Phillies better not give up Happ for Fuentes, which area of our pitching needs more help our starters or our bullpen? Mr. Eaton, can you answer this? What cat got your tongue? How 'bout you Mr. Myers? case closed.

There is no way the marlins would deal Sanchez for Fuentes.
With Anibal in their rotation the Marlins will now have arguably one of the best rotations in the league with Nolasco, Olsen, Volstad, Johnson, and Sanchez.
Not to mention Andrew Miller who has shown signs of being good although I dont see him as being more than a 3 in a 5 man rotation. I expect Fuentes to stay with the Rox for the year.
