Gordon won't rule out move to Europe
Ben Gordon won't set any artificial deadlines to get a new deal done. A restricted free agent, he could sign a one-year tender offer from the Bulls and then become an unrestricted free agent next summer. Born in England, Gordon doesn't rule out following Josh Childress' lead and signing with an overseas club. "Definitely, it's a possibility with the Euro being so strong. Josh did it. It just depends on what the individual wants or what he can put up with. I'm from London, so it's definitely something that seems like it would be interesting. But ideally I'd like to be here playing in the States for the team that drafted me."

Probably the best choice for Gordon right now. Bulls are playing hardball and are not willing to give him what he wants. And there is also Deng to worry about. The Bulls are getting too cheap. Ooops, they were always cheap that's why Phil and Pippen weren't resigned. That's why they throw away some of Jordan's last years by deciding to go cheap.

If he's smart, he should go to Europe. As mentioned by Guam Baller, the Bulls are cheap, but more importantly, they have enough guards, so he doesn't have much bargaining power.
Or, he should go to Miami, but we willing to take a pay cut to make it work.

Bull's management low-balled Jordan and Pippen. What do they care about a Ben Gordon?

It'll be a major issue if he goes to Europe. The guys who have went so far are ok, but Ben Gordon has real talent.

Why would the bulls give $12 million-per-year long term contracts to Deng and Gordon when they weren't even able to get them to the play-offs in the East? These 2 guys have to understand they need to prove they can win - Chicago will never be able to contend for a championship by giving fat contracts to good scorers who are not all-stars. They should offer Deng $11M (he scan score but ALSO rebound) and trade Gordon (who can only score and nothing else).

Why is it a 'major issue' ?
He's obviously VERY GOOD.....
but he's a little 2 guard that obviously can't play 48 minutes or he will get exposed defensively.
If he couldn't beat out the likes of Chris Duhon & Hinrich for more playing time....don't you think there is a reason ?
He's not an All star- if he can get a boatload of $ overseas, ta ta.
NO WAY should chicago mortgage the farm for him

not a fan of gordon, no defense, not that tall, and turnover prone. he scores about 18-20 points a game but he doesn't facilitate the offense. what he does, score, he does very well, but he has too many other holes in his game to warrent the kind of money he wants.

i like these comments that is why no nba team will overpay for him (not with his weaknesses)
but in europe it dosent matter so much so he will be a good fit, he can get all the money he wants trust me and this is a serious possibility
good bye mr gordon

The bulls won't pay him because he's Marbury lite w/ no D. Throw up 25 shots a game and yes, you too can score 20pts a nite in the nba. Throw in his resting on defense and you have the 2nd coming of Starbury. give him no more than 6 mill or buy him the ticket to London to school slow white lurcheys in the Euro league.

I for one am glad to see that the nba is taking the hard line with marginal players in search of fat paydays. how many teams are stuck with guys like this on their roster? not trying to diss gordon but 12 mil is all star money, or at least should be. plenty of teams have guys they overpaid for and i think its slowing down and its great.
i mean some guys will always get overpaid- like rebounders or tall guys but they arent really overpaid because market dictates price. truth be told there arent all that many rebounders in the nba and defense and rebounding win games so we wil still see stiffs get big bucks. but scorers (especially scoring guards) are all over the place. gordon is a big time scorer sure but hes not taking you anywhere.

This is just the new move by agents to force NBA teams to pay up. These guys aren't going anywhere.
