Not only is Ryan Grant not reporting to camp for today's first practice, the Green Bay Packers' unsigned starting running back is "livid" over the club's initial contract offer, his agent said. "It's a joke. It's an absolute joke," agent Alan Herman said Sunday night, roughly 24 hours after receiving what he said was an offer from Packers negotiator Russ Ball of a six-year deal that included just $1.75 million in guaranteed money. "It's insulting. I don't believe it. "Ryan's feelings about the Green Bay Packers at this point are not very good. He is livid. He is very angry."

He must be Brat Favre's cousin or something!

As a guy off of the Giants practice squad I root for the guy, but come on Grant you had half a season of good performance. That does not equal a big contract.

And Green Bay....6 year commitment? Do a 3 year and let the guy prove he is worth the money.

July 29, 2008  07:50 AM ET

who in the blue`hell told this guy that he deserved ProBowl money after one lucky playoff stretch!!!

July 29, 2008  07:51 AM ET

Just take your ball and go home then you big baby.

July 29, 2008  07:53 AM ET

I wish I could say I feel sorry for him...but I don't. He needs to prove it for a whole year before he starts holding out of camp.

July 29, 2008  07:57 AM ET

Put in a "FULL" year of playing like the real deal and then, maybe, you can start this crap. So far you've proven that you're capable of handling the load for half a season. Big deal..... I've seen lots of players play good for a few games and never heard from again.....

July 29, 2008  08:07 AM ET

Yeah, he did great for half a season facing nickel defenses and a HOF QB handing him the ball.

Livid? Does that mean he's happy? Bring Bart back and let him play running back.

jctoo..those guys like tai need to be tossed. They are worse than the people who fall into discussing politics! I hit the violation report on them.

I disagree.

July 29, 2008  08:45 AM ET

You want to be on the Green Bay Packers? Get in line.

July 29, 2008  08:46 AM ET

As a Packer fan, I can guarantee you that he would be in camp and not complaining about money if Favre were there... he's just smart enough to see that the Packers are gonna tank and go down in flames under Rodgers and he just wants to get paid if he's walking into that situation. He knows that Rodgers is gonna struggle, the offense is gonna rely on him, and he's gonna get knocked around more than last year when opposing defenses had to focus on Favre (who was having one of the best years of his career as a passer).

July 29, 2008  08:59 AM ET

r6066s i agree he is going to take some bashings this year so he deserves more cash

6 year contracts should only be offered for established stars

he deseves a 3 year deal with a lot more guaranteed money though anyone knows this , dont tell me the packers are going to scr3w this one up to

July 29, 2008  08:59 AM ET

Give him a 1-year incentive-filled $2 million base contract this year. If he's more than a one-hit-wonder, give him a 4-year $16 million deal at season's end.

July 29, 2008  09:07 AM ET

I disagree.

RP is right. He should be in camp bust is tail to become a 1500 yard back then after this year he has just made himself indispensable but not showing up is stupid.
