With the Jaguars thin at wide receiver because of the injuries, coach Jack Del Rio hasn't ruled out the possibility of taking a look at veteran wide receiver Terry Glenn, who was released by the Cowboys on Friday. "I'm not ruling anything out for the future. ... If there is somebody out there that we think can help us be a stronger football team, we're interested, regardless of position,'' Del Rio said.

Let's see........the Cowboys wanted Terry to sign a waiver because of his injury-prone knee so in a sense, they fired him. The Jaguars are thin at the wide receiver position due to injuries so they're going to look at hiring Terry Glenn. How does this help the Jaguars?

Did you guys know that Terry Glenn did agree to sign the 500,000 waiver? He agreed and the Cowboys decided to go in a different direction. I am not sure what it is at this point, but he did agree to it.

So chill out on Glenn......this was Jerry's decision.

Where did this info come from?

July 29, 2008  09:43 AM ET

Jones got personal on this one. Do not understand it. I think he backed himself in a corner by shooting his mouth in public about dealing with Glenn and his ego would not change his mind. Basically over $1 million difference between the contract and his demand at $500K.
No matter who he plays for this year, his cap hit with the Cowboys is $3.1 million. Everyone wants to get down on Glenn over last year, but it is not like he hurt himself in a bar fight. It was playing football..
I think there are a lot of teams that would be interested at $1.75 million.

July 29, 2008  09:48 AM ET

not sure how many teams will line up at glenn's asking price, but he's certainly going to get more than a league minimum contract from someone

July 29, 2008  09:49 AM ET

If you know the full story, it was reported that Glenn was in bad physical condition, and not just his knee. They said he wouldn't even had been able to practice last weekend. And Sam Hurd has looked pretty good from what Ive read. The Cowboys set almost every team record on offense without Glenn, Jerry Jones did the right thing.

July 29, 2008  09:49 AM ET

I got the info from Mickey Spagnola and Adam Shefter talked about it too.

" Jerry Jones did the right thing. "... Only if Glenn really is done and injuries at the WR position are not a problem. If TO goes down there is not one WR left that teams would have to roll coverage to, that makes running the ball a lot tougher... Just what I think..Crayton as a number one is not exactly a formula for success..Teams would then put their focus on Whitten..It is the one position where the Cowboys are thin...

July 29, 2008  10:34 AM ET

Even if Glenn cameback, if TO goes down that shuts the offense down pretty much. And honestly, would teams fear a 34 year old WR with cartilage missing from his knee? Crayton is a #3 WR at best to me. Bringing Glenn back was no gurantee he would make the offense better. I like the young guys at WR the Cowboys have. I think now they see Jerry Jones has faith in them, and its time to step up.

I wish Glenn would have stayed....o well

Look s/b a quick glance. We don't need him in Jagtown, baby...
