Stanford's unsettled QB quandary

Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh isn't disappointed that he didn't have a starting quarterback by the time spring practice ended in April. He won't waste time choosing between Tavita Pritchard, Alex Loukas and Jason Forcier as the Cardinal open training camp Friday evening. "It's going to be seven, eight, nine days," Harbaugh said Monday at the annual Bay Area football media day in San Francisco. "We've got about 22 practices and to have a guy in place halfway to that final scrimmage is what I'm looking for." Harbaugh said that Pritchard, who started seven games last season and Loukas have the early edge and are "dead even" for the starting job as camp opens. Forcier, the Michigan transfer, dealt with nagging injuries in spring camp and that put him a bit behind.

Better to be sure you have the right guy, then rush in and assign the wrong guy the starting duty.

Pulling for Forcier. He was patient behind Chad and unfortunately didn't have the skill set that Carr wanted behind center. Had Jason was a psychic and knew that RR would be coming in, he would have been the hands down starter for Michigan. I hope Jason finds success at Stanford under HArbaugh, two Michigan Men, even though Harbaugh has a big mouth.

Go with Pritchard.

Hm. Pritchard is the vet, got the height and the arm strength, but he throws picks. he was however the guy at the wheel when Stanford beat SC. Forcier, a SoCal product, can run and throw, but he's smaller and he did transfer, apparently thinking he had a better chance to play on the Farm. Loukas, at this point, seems out of the running.

J. Hova: you said it.

No man, Harbaugh's got one more year of eligibility left...I think I would play that card

Favre's available these days...seems to have the "college" mentality.

Hey Warden - to be fair to Harbaugh, he was right about what he said. UM was too insular under Carr (who should have left 3 years ago) and UM fell way behind. That was the gist of Harbaugh's comments and he was spot on.

Start the kid who be USC?

Is this really relevant.......

He does throw picks but that kid did beat USC. For that alone I would roll with Pritchard until he shoots himself in the foot.

Yes. It's called "Truth and Rumors" and it's about sports. This is about who might be the starting Qb for the Stanford Cardinal this year and some of us are interested in the PAC 10. Were you looking for "Perez Hilton.com"?
