All quiet on trade front for Dunn
Adam Dunn is the man without a rumor. The Reds would deal him, but none of the teams out there looking for outfield help seem to be interested, and it's one of the more confounding aspects of this year's deadline. Dunn is 28 years old. He's on track for a fifth straight 40-homer season. His on-base percentage is .386, which would be the highest on the Angels, White Sox, Tigers, Brewers, Marlins and Rays and the second-highest on the Mets. Negatives include his astronomical strikeout totals and the perception (articulated last month publicly and somewhat embarrassingly by Toronto GM J.P. Ricciardi) that Dunn is a soft, unmotivated player who doesn't come through in the clutch.

He's also the worst outfielder in the league.

According to the Reds, No. According to the other teams, probably, but only if the price is correct/right.
He is going to get a wakeup call when he hits free agency and sees how little he will get, unless someone is as dumb as the Dodgers were with Andrew Jones.

What has the Toronto GM done to make people think he knows what he's doing?
Dunn strikes out a ton. He also produces 100 runs and 100 RBI's per year with 40HRs. I find it very hard to believe no one wants his bat.

Everyones waiting for free agency. Right now, the Reds want a lot, but teams know his worth will drop after the season is over.

Good point CF2.....I'll take it a step further. Based on the Jays performance over the years I need to assume Ricciardi is a dim-witted, slow reacting, gutless GM who can't come through with a good team.

Mets should look at him. They need a corner OFer in the worst way. The guy hits HRs and gets on base.

I think you are WAY off-base.
you are looking at things ina vaccum
They have had a TON of injuries.
They have WHEN HEALTHY the best 1,2 pitchers in baseball (and very nice starting staff) , a good line-up, decent relief pitching
The reason they haven't done anythingis ........
They play in the same division as the YANKEES and SOX
They CANNOT compete.

the article is a spin. facts are reds won't trade him unless they get something they need or want. reds have moved away from the "let's trade for anything people will offer us" under the new GM.

12 mil for Burnette, Rolen for Glaus, Eckstein after his last team saw him slipping badly ...
He's not doing a good job at all. Everyone has injuries. It's not liminted to the Jays.

As a life long Reds fan I can attest to the fact that Adam Dunn is completely worthless. I would bet that 90% of his home runs come with no one on base and when the game is already decided. He is A-Rod times 100. This guy is the biggest choke/disappointment in the history of the Reds franchise and I hope they trade him for a bag of baseballs. Just a complete embarrassment of a baseball player. God I hope they get rid of this clown.

Eckstein is a stop gap...but also a grit player that isn't a 'star' but you need on a team to bunt, steal a base, etc
Rolen for Glaus- in retrospect a BAD DEAL-
I'm not saying he is perfect-
but he would be thought of HIGHER if he was not in the AL east
competing against NY & Bos
