Predators interested in Parrish

The Predators have expressed some interest in offensive-minded forward Mark Parrish, who was waived by the Wild on Wednesday. Parrish's agent, John Vollan, said the Predators were one of a number of teams that contacted him Wednesday. The Wild bought out Parrish's contract, making him an unrestricted free agent. The Predators could find themselves in need of offensive help. Alexander Radulov wants to leave the team to play in Russia and Steve Sullivan's back injury has kept him off the ice since February 2007.

Let the bidding begin!

What? No Sundin story to lead off T&R today? They're slipping!

July 31, 2008  07:43 AM ET

The Preds really need to go for this guy. They need something to make up for Radulov skipping town. They'll probably have to overpay to get Parrish but they're gonna have to do it. Hopefully we can get through the day without a Sundin story.

"...offensive-minded..."?????

HA! He hasn't scored more than 50 points in the past 5 seasons. His highest point total ever was 60 and he was playing with Yashin. How is he "offensive-minded"?

Are they kidding? Maybe they need to find someone to sign the paycheques first THEN get a 3rd line defenceman

3rd line defenseman? Might want to read a bit more carefully. Parrish is a forward.

A thousand pardons....

I don't get it. Parrish is not even a similar player to Radulov at all. He wouldn't be replacing Alexander at all. Parrish is the Forward version of a pylon.

July 31, 2008  09:24 PM ET

Parrish never played with Yashin he played with Peca and Bates

July 31, 2008  09:52 PM ET

The Kings are way under the salary floor and need to spend some 13 million to get above it. I see them overpaying for him...

Does it really matter

the Preds are a really promising team, if only their management could figure things out
