Dolphins want to check Glenn's knee

If former Cowboys wide receiver Terry Glenn is going to rejoin his old coaches in Miami sometime soon, he is going to first need to prove his surgically repaired knee has the power of old as opposed to being, well, just plain old. At this point, the Dolphins remain very interested in signing Glenn -- interested enough that they could sign him at any point this week or next. But there still is a strong concern within the organization about Glenn's knee. There is a belief that Glenn might not be able to fully participate right away in training camp as a result of lingering effects from his rehabilitation, which could also hinder his ability to pass a mandatory physical.

Maybe Parcells will kiss his knee before the physical and make it all better!!!!

July 31, 2008  07:18 AM ET

Why, do they not trust his word that the knee is good? HA!

It going to be interesting to see how much the Dolphins offer Terry...

Should have signed the waiver Terry... we all know that knee isn't fully healed...

Hasn't Jerry Jones been saying his knee is bad since the end of last season?

Actually I'm hoping the knee is good and all goes well for him! I'm just dying to see the "B" team version of the Dallas Cowboys that now resides in Miami!

Yeah and what makes it even worse is that Parcells and Sporano really thought they were doing something good by taking the Cowboys' scraps. (In Herm Edwards voice) HELLLLLOO!!! there's a reason why Dallas didn't want them.

Yeah, but remember nolesfan33, they are the experts! LOL

I am still trying to understand why would you offer someone with a bad knee a deal..smh

July 31, 2008  09:14 AM ET

Will be interesting to see if he can pass a physical. I have my doubts.

Sportsfandiva.. ..For the same reason the Cowboys signed Thomas, a LB coming off neck injuries and concussion issues, because if they have anything left, then you have a pretty good football player for a year.

July 31, 2008  09:23 AM ET

check it out for what? they all know it is bad. i thought Parcells was smarter than this. if he wants his locker room presence just hire him as a coach of something.

Who puts these threads together? What no minds are tasked to keep these going. I guess editors pound on their underlings to "get a story" and just about anything passes as story if it was hot the day before. Tomorrow's headline....
"Glenn goes to Waffle House and drinks Decaf w/ Tuna".......uhhhhh so.

Guys, his knee is pretty messed up. Take it or leave it. I would take considering you're current star receiver is Ted Ginn Jr. That about sums it up.

July 31, 2008  09:36 AM ET

Maybe Glenn is to mentor Ginn, sorta like Tuna and Ricky palling around camp?

I could see some value added with Glenn passing the torch to Ginn on the sidelines for 12 months.

July 31, 2008  09:53 AM ET

would have to agree that Glenn mentoring could help Ginn's career over the long haul.

Remember when Parcells had Phil Simms visit the Patriots to 'mentor' Drew Bledsoe? Could be the same thing here only I don't think Phil became a Patriot to do so.
