Official: Manny traded to the Dodgers
The Red Sox traded embattled slugger Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers late Thursday afternoon, SI.com has learned. Jason Bay is headed to Boston as part of the deal, SI.com has learned. Pittsburgh gets pitcher Craig Hansen and outfielder Brandon Moss, both from Boston, as well as third baseman Andy LaRoche and right-handed pitcher Bryan Morris from the Dodgers. The Red Sox went back-and-forth with the Marlins and Dodgers as the 4 p.m. ET deadline approached. Ramirez said earlier today, as first reported by SI.com, that he would accept a trade to any team.

I respectfully disagree with you. Manny's bat was huge in the Soxs line-up. I'm sure some of the Soxs fans are going to agree with you. However, deep down we know this guy is a rbi machine. He hits for average and power. He will be missed in Beantown.

The team this helps the most is the Yankees! I have never been so happy to see a player leave Bawston. Manny is a Yankee Killer. Top of the 8th, 2 on, 2 out, Yanks up by 1. Sox fans would rather Jason Bay up there than Manny? Another point, you can watch Ortiz's numbers drop now that Manny isn't protecting him anymore. Oh it's good day in New York.
