Peca facing pay cut with Leafs

Maple Leafs general manager John Ferguson must make a decision on unrestricted forwards Jeff O'Neill, Travis Green and Michael Peca and restricted defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo. It's unlikely all three forwards will be back, with the 33-year-old Peca having to take a salary hit if he wants to stay and prove a broken leg hasn't affected his game. O'Neill's 20-goal ability was not enough to keep him from being a healthy scratch at the end of last season.

Who cares about the Leafs? The last time they were in the finals, There wasn't even a team in California. It was easier to win with only five other teams in the league, wasn't it Leaf fanst

Leafs need to strip back to base levels & drop the veterans. A few years at the bottom of the league, a few good draft picks & rebuild. Problem is that Toronto fans & media won't accept that sort of a proposal. More seasons of mediocrity ahead for you Leafs fans - and you deserve it!!

How do we deserve it?? After all the good years then after CuJo left followed by Pat Quinn..what we do deserve is a good season next year..especially as we missed the playoffs game by the devils losing the shootout against Islanders...

We will come back within the next 3 years

you know i live in canada, and i hate the leafs. their old, their whiners, and they are not canadas team. contrary to the rumors that even us western canadians loooove the leafs, we despise them. it is nice to here leafbashing from all over north america. and yes ferguson is the worst gm in professional sports.

Michael Peca was damaged goods even before he broke his leg. He's one concussion away from the end of his career. He's played scared the last few years. A scared Michael Peca doesn't scare anybody, as Toronto (and Edmonton before them) found out.

Haha, we know you hate us. We love it. And you know we do. That's why you hate us. Mentally, we are better fans than any other team in the league. And it bugs you guys doesn't it? You know no matter how bad we lose, we are three times as cocky. And you know what makes it all work? We have more fans then anybody. Leaf fans are the bullies, and you guys provide the lunch money. Calgary, failed, Edmonton, failed, Ottawa, failed. Whens the last time Vancouver was in a finals or won a Stanley Cup? Oh, thats right. They haven't. Besides Detroit, it would take the entire Western Conference to amount the cups the Leafs have produced. Haha all you jealous fans make me laugh, I can't wait to see the excuses that come out of all your mouthes the day Toronto wins the cup. Keep crying Oilers, Flames, Canucks fans. Nobody in Leafs Nation cares for, or Canada let alone for that matter. Toronto and Montreal are Canada's only two true teams. All you other guys are just bandwagon profit margins.
